It was frosty cold when we got up on Thursday (12/23), but although I am sad that Scrap Happy is not meeting, I decided to try to make the most of my day at home. I’ve been procrastinating (read fear) about using my embroidery machine, so that was the first thing I did…set up a design and kick off the stitching:
I'm not sure I'm going to continue with these designs. I have this fabric that looks like blue bubbles, so when I saw a set of embroideries called ''bath time cuties'', I thought they would go perfectly....but this is the 3rd design I have stitched out and I'm just not crazy about any of them.
Afterwards, I worked on the outer border on the QoV:
Same simple pattern, but I think it looks different enough from the last one I did, just by changing the focus fabric:
I also got the binding cut and sewn together:
but not pressed.
I had leftover Chinese for dinner, while Michael had pierogis and we both worked on our Christmas cards while we watched TV.
And I just have to share this with a wider audience:
Twas the night before Christmas as I sat by the tree,
Wondering what Santa would bring just for me.
Fabric, patterns, scissors and lace
"Or, a new sewing machine" I thought with a grin on my face.
Suddenly I saw him, "Hi Santa" I said
He snickered, "Good little girls should be in their bed."
"Oh, Santa forgive me, I know I've been caught,
But I was just so excited to see what you've brought."
"Well, lets take a look around this room where you work."
He shook his head quickly and turned with a jerk,
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear,
You've got enough crap, I'll see you next year!"
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
*** Apparently this dude at the mall was just tying his shoe, and did NOT want to play leap frong….my bad dude….my bad. ***
We all have too much crap!!!
I have seen that ditty about the night before Christmas before and love it.
