We got a late start on Sunday (7/18) after SKYPE-ing with Marc and AJ, but finally Michael had his cereal (with freshly picked blueberries), while I had leftover sandwiches from the memorial on Saturday (courtesy of our neighbor). I headed to the studio to finally get another customer quilt fully loaded and basted:
I worked on that all afternoon, with Lucy moving from place to place:
while Michael was watching the final round of golf. I got the program set up and quilting kicked off:
and I got about a third of the way done before stopping for our evening.
We didn’t have date night on Saturday so that Michael could watch golf…instead we moved it to Sunday. Michael made popcorn and we started to watch the last season of NORTHERN EXPOSURE. We haven’t watched it in forever….and the first 3 episodes were terrific.
I recently finished 2 excellent books for summer reading: Sunset Beach by Mary Kay Andrews...this was an e-book from the library and I enjoyed it very much! Several twists I didn't see coming, and a satisfying ending (but not the one I thought it was going to be!)
The other was NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT by Kristin Higgins (Janice - is this the one you read? Here's the description: After being hit by a van and breaking up with her boyfriend, Nora Stuart returns home to the tiny Maine community on Scupper Island, but after fifteen years it seems she's not really wanted there.) This is the 3rd Kristin Higgins book I've read and they have all been good.
*** I was reading an instruction manual, and I got to the part about needing a screwdriver…so I got out the vodka and orange juice. Anything after that is still a mystery! ***
*** I dusted once….it came back! I’m not falling for that again. ***
I like the quilt pattern too !
I love the quilt pattern on your latest customer quilt, and YES, that was one of the Kristen Higgins books I read. I have liked all of hers so far.
