Well, despite my best efforts at quilting….Saturday (10/7) was definitely not my day :~(.
Michael left around 8 AM for golf, and I got in a bike ride before having breakfast and reading my library book. I finally headed downstairs to continue quilting. Now, as much as I love the ‘’wood sprite’’ longarm design, it does take forever to stitch out…and I had 7 rows left. My bobbin ran out on my first pass, and when I put in the new bobbin, it just wasn’t stitching nor sounding right…..I ended up ripping out the same 60 stitches at least 4 times. I finally wound a new bobbin and put in a new needle and cautiously started the quilting up again. Things got a bit better, then my thread starting breaking, but my machine didn’t stop stitching as it is supposed to….apparently when the updates go through (and I had one installed about a month ago), they set your ‘’thread break sensor’’ setting back to zero….so I got that taken care of (I had to post a question on FB asking where I could find the thread break sensor button when I didn't find it under any of the computer tabs), but by then it was after 5 PM and I was hungry and tired :~(. Michael and I had leftover soup for dinner, then he wanted to finish watching something on TV…so I made myself head downstairs to continue quilting. By the time the quilt was done:
it was 8 PM and I was just exhausted….I headed up to watch TV…and do nothing else for the rest of the night!
I wanted you to see one of our roses…the normal color is very pale like this:
but this new one coming out is much deeper in color:
Why is it that when someone tells you that there are one billion stars in the universe you believe them, but if they tell you there is wet paint you have to touch it to check?
Great job getting the quilting done ! Your perseverance with Zena always amazes me.
The roses are GORGEOUS. Thanks for sharing their beauty. Maybe you could share a photo of the finished quilt after tying in the ends ?
OMG!!! Your roses are absolutely beautiful! My neighbor's roses are almost finished here in PA :(. She brings over fresh roses every few days as long as they are blooming and we bring her fresh fruits and veggies from our favorite farm market every week. It is a perfect exchange in my eyes.
Bowl of leftover soup for dinner? After that kind of day, you needed a bowl of Prosecco!!
I love your little statement. It is so true. I get sticky fingers all the time😑. We area so impoatient to let things dry. I was using some white out yesterday. Guess what, my fingers got white.
