I was up early again on Sunday (10/16) to get back to quilting, and by NOON, the second quilt was done:
I spent several hours getting the basting ripped out and the bobbin ends woven in and the quilts trimmed before putting them on the to-be-bound pile:
and I continued to cut background for the AZ Mary cool colors quilt to be done at retreat.
My honey got a butternut squash all cut up in the late afternoon, and I headed upstairs to make dinner:
-I started by heating olive oil and then sauteing some onions...normally I would just use a regular yellow onion, but I had this red one that needed to get used up!
-I added a bit of butter to the pan before throwing in all of the butternut squash
-my honey cut some sage from our front garden patch
-and I did a chiffonade of that and threw it in. Nomally I harvest all of my sage at once and chop it up and add it to several sticks of butter, then plop those out on a cookie sheet in blobs to freeze, before putting in a plastice freezer bag....but I have finished all of those off. There's just something about butternut squash and sage that is heavenly. And a bit of salt and pepper got ground into here as well
-we ate that topped with some raviolis...and it was a yummy dinner
And you need to see what BG has been working on lately….she’s been finishing up some UFO’s….and this block of the month is absolutely incredible:
Anne M – this one’s for you….
*** Essential oil friends…which oil calms household family members down??? Chloroform right??? It’s chloroform isn’t it? ***
BG, I just love the quilt, great colors
Beautiful quilt BG!
