A year ago, rioters protesting the results of the 2020 election attacked the US Capitol building, infiltrating some of the most hallowed chambers of American democracy and setting off shockwaves of violence and division across the country. Much has happened since, but the consequences of that day continue to reverberate.

OK, I felt like I was back in the right head space when I got to my studio on Wednesday morning (1/5). Michael left for golf around 10 AM (after bringing me breakfast with surprise leftover potatoes):

while I was still SKYPE-ing with Janice, but after we were done, I was ready to go.

I got my quilt loaded (you can see by looking at the right edge that I'm going to be piecing batting on this one):

and started to cut out strips for a new project:

BG has been doing a Bonnie Hunter pattern called STRIP TWIST, and I’ve enjoyed seeing the progress on her design wall. Well, I’ve looked at it enough lately that it has sucked me right in…that, coupled with the desire for more men's quilts…I pulled out some browns and greens and started cutting.

I SKYPE-d with BG around 4 PM and when we were finished, my honey and I ordered a DOMINO’s pizza for our last comparison. It looked pretty good:

and tasted pretty good as well….which shocked both of us....the last time either of us had PAPA JOHN's or Dominos....we both said ''never again''!! So, they must have made improvements since then. Now we just have to collate our results and see if we agree (which I can tell you right now….I’m 100% sure we won’t :~).
