Michael and I were up and out early on Tuesday (9/6) for eye appointments for both of us at the ophthalmologist. Michael’s pressure was 9 (remember, both of us have glaucoma) and she said that was great…my pressure was 13 and she said that was great. I asked how mine could be great when it was so much higher than Michael's…she said the pressure is relative….she said ‘’Michael’s optic nerve is thinner than yours’’, I interrupted her and said ‘’everything on his body is thinner than on mine’’….she laughed and laughed!
We stopped at COOKOUT for milkshakes (well, in truth, Michael got a milkshake while I stopped at Pizza Hut to get a personal pan pizza) and were home by 1 PM. We both had our eyes dilated (and unfortunately I have to go back in 6 weeks because Dr Minal saw floaters that she hadn’t seen before) and everything we looked at was blurry. I’m still not sleeping well, and I tried to take a nap, but I just can’t seem to fall asleep during my naps anymore, so I got up to finish off Sandy’s quilt (I know this quilt is totally not in my style or colors...but I really love it!):
I managed to put together brownies (BG - your one bowl recipe...they were AWESOME!!!! Everyone loved them!!! No wonder...they're basically just butter and chocolate, with a tiny bit of flour to hold everything together :~) to take to rehearsal, with toasted pecans:
A word about toasting nuts in the microwave...it's very easy to quickly burn them...toast them in 30 second increments until fragrant.
You know, I was lamenting to Michael about yesterday’s post (actually, it was 2 days ago)…the fact that I didn’t have many pictures, and he said I should do a Facebook thing and show you 5 years back…so here you go…5 years ago on September 6th…it just proves that our lives are pretty boring and 5 years later….we’re still doing the same things. It does however seem like I had a lot more energy 5 years ago :~). The interesting thing is…the weather was much nicer on this day 5 years ago:

I SKYPE’d with Janice on Wednesday (9/7), then headed out to find a pair of khaki pants for the play. That took several hours and when I got home I was just exhausted and actually managed to take a nap while I was icing my knee! I got to work on cleaning up Sandy’s quilt for just a bit:
before it was time to head out to rehearsal. Being out of the house from 6 PM until 10:30 PM every night is really cutting into my quilting time :~)
*** If you want to know how my week is going…I just took a pillowcase out of the dryer and put it over my head thinking it was a t-shirt to wear to bed. I spent 15 seconds inside it, searching for the neck hole, and then mumbled ‘’what is this…pants? ***
*** I never thought I’d be the type of person who would get up early in the morning to exercise…..I was right. ***
Quite interestI abo the temperature!
I went back and read the post from 5 years ago, and then clicked on the posts from 2011, they were a who.e lot shorter and fewer pictures than your currant posts
Love those brownies..i should make them. Lol
