Speaking to the journalists heard in the background, the 80-year-old declared, "The war is going very well, as you know. We're winning by a lot. Iran is making very big concessions. We'll see what happens, but it's been very, very powerful. It's going very, very well."
WAIT??? didn't he announce it was over last week?!?!?!

It was sewing…sewing….sewing all day Sunday (6/21), and by dinnertime, my:

top was complete!!! Reveal on Thursday after I take the top to quilting….
I saw the pic on Pinterest last Thursday, and showed it to a lot of people at retreat. They seemed to like it and I can’t wait to show the real thing.

Michael left for his meeting at Triple A on Monday morning (6/22) (to set up our tranfer from our flight to the hotel in Seattle, and then tickets for some events), then headed out for 9 holes of golf, while I was with the craft group at the library.
I came home and put my QoV back up on the design wall to sew the last 3 blocks onto all of the rows, and by dinnertime, I had them all done and pressed:

This is large enough now to be quilted and bound!
*****************************
We spent Tuesday morning (6/23) at the heart lab in Ballentyne so that Michael could complete his stress test. We got home in time for a smurfy breakfast from SUMO, and then I took off for a Fiber Nutz meeting at Rosalie’s.
We had some beautiful show and tell:
-Melanie worked on a challenge called ''reflections''. She found 2 pictures she liked, and re-created them in water color

-she also had taken a picture of an orchid, and decided to render that in water color as well

And there was one other very special to me show and tell. I knit this cotton sweater probably 35 years ago...and wore it for a long time, but eventually outgrew it. It has been sitting in my closet down here for 20 years, as I just couldn't bear to give it away. I gave it to Pam about a month ago...and doesn't it fit her perfectly?

I am so happy she likes it, and that it is getting a new life with someone I love!
******************************************
Michael left for golf around 8 AM Wednesday morning (6/24), while I spent the morning in the dentist’s chair, getting fitted for a new crown :~(. I hit the grocery store on the way home, then headed across the street for a massage.
When I got back home, I got to video chat with Janice…she is a bit sore from starting to pack up the house, but said things are going well. The hardest part is deciding what they need to keep out for the 3 – 6 months they may be in a furnished apartment while they are looking for a house, while all of the rest of their stuff is in a POD.
Michael and I got cleaned up after that and grabbed an early dinner at Mary O’Neil’s in Waxhaw. I had the fish and chips, while he had a Rueben with sweet potato fries. We ended up eating each other leftovers on Thursday and decided that we will both order the fish and chips next time :~).
*************************************************
I got to show my:

on Thursday (6/25) at quilting, so now I can tell you all about it :~).
Last Thursday at retreat, I was looking at Pinterest at the end of the day…trying to find a quilt picture for a friend. Instead, I found this quilt that I went CRAZY over!!! Janice and I worked out the directions Thursday night (and yes….this is how all of my directions start for quilts I make up just from seeing a picture). Cindy (a Thursday quilter) saw this and said I have a weird and wonderful brain!!!

and I started cutting on Friday morning, while Janice was quilting….I worked on the quilt all day Friday-Saturday and Sunday:

and by Sunday night, just before dinnertime, the quilt was done:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pattern!!!! We had other wonderful show and tell at quilting:

-we give extra credit for piecing the back :~)

And 10 years ago.....
*** I’m never sure if I have free time…or if I’m just forgetting stuff. ***
*** Why the heck do underwear and socks come in re-sealable bags…and potato chips don’t? ***
*** Why do we put a round pizza in a square box and eat it in triangles? ***

WOW! Melanie's watercolors are stunning! I am in ove with the orchids! I simply love your new finished quil! Spectacular! I agree that the bargello runners are beautiful and so many of the other quilts. Such talent!
Diane's bargello runners are so beautiful!
The pencil quilt is just wrong, ask me why.
The purple "frame" border on your quilt completes it PERFECTLY!!! Just beautiful!!!
