Iris was still getting over a cold on Tuesday morning (10/6), so she didn’t come for a visit…instead I video chatted with Janice (since on Wednesday I will be at the first day of our 2 day SHQ retreat), and then finally finished sewing the inside of the charm pack quilt:

I got another customer quilt loaded up:

and set up the program, but that was it before I headed upstairs to spend a bit of time with my honey…and my new book!

Wednesday and Thursday (10/7 & 8) was our 2 day Scrap Happy retreat:
We had a fabulous time….got lots of things accomplished:

and went home exhausted each day :~).

I had a late neighbor’s breakfast on Friday (10/9) and didn’t get home until after NOON. I read my book for a bit, then sewed for just a bit and got the border on my on-point polka dot charm quilt, so this is ready for quilting:

I still felt pretty tired…I guess from the retreat and just vegged and knitted for a bit in the evening.

I spent Saturday morning (10/10) reclaiming backing fabric….I’ve gotten way behind since I have been knitting every night (which is when I usually reclaim fabric
) …..and I don’t want to start another quilt top….so I’m going to be unpicking stitching until it is all taken care of. Michael and I left home after 10 AM for a celebration of life/memorial service for our friend Jim O….and were home again by 12:30.
I spent the afternoon in the studio, reclaiming fabric and starting the quilting on Marvella’s quilt:

We packed up and left at 5 PM for a play in Matthews. We drove up and down Trade Street for 20 minutes looking for the address, but couldn’t find it. We asked several people, and they had no idea where it was…and of course, it was raining and ugly. Michael said we needed to be on foot, and he was right…he went into a pub, and they gave him good directions for where it was, and 5 minutes later, we were there! They had hors d’oeuvres and wine before the play….which was a reader’s theatre called ‘’SEX PLEASE! WE”RE SIXTY!’’

One of the reasons I bought the tickets was because we knew 2 of the actors. It was a cute play, but both Michael and I thought the writing could have definitely been tightened up….it dragged at the beginning of the second act, and could have been shorter overall. It was POURING on the way back to the car….but we laughed about it (once we were inside!) and headed home. We both read our books for an hour or so before heading to bed.
And in other news…..Michael was out walking Freya this afternoon and heard this….but didn’t see it, but luckily others captured the scene….yep….walking down OUR street: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1503873665183164
