I hopped up early on Thursday (12/14) to put together those ham/cheese/poppy seed sliders and head out to the SHQ Christmas Party! There was tons of food:
and we played several great games……we played L-R-C with fat quarters…and Mary was the big winner:
and we played a singing game with the 12 days of Christmas
which was also very fun, but not before singing a very happy birthday to Floy:
Then we did the dirty Santa gift exchange….which had lots of great things….I came home with 3 jars of homemade jam, and a quart jar of biscuit mix that I think I just have to add water….or butter….or something…I’ll have to read the directions :~).
Diane gave me a lift home and we each had a piece of cranberry cheesecake (yum!) and talked until it was time to go for my hair appointment. One of my knitting students called me, and I managed to talk her through binding off her scarf over the phone.
We headed out before 5 PM to pick up Marcia & Maury to have dinner at BIG DADDY's BAD BURGERS, or BAD DADDY's BIG BURGERS or somebody's daddy with some kind of burgers before going to the CAROLINA HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR LIGHT SHOW. We've had these tickets for 2 months and it was wonderful to finally get together and see it:
It was Maury & Marcia's first time and they thought it was well worth it. We were finally home before 10 PM and just collapsed a bit and watched a cooking show before bed.
*** I am on a new diet. It is called the Chardonnay and Christmas Cookie Diet. Every time I pass by the tin of cookies my sister Kate gave me I have one..or maybe two. We shall see how that serves me. ***
All of the food looked absolutely wonderful and the light show was fantastic! Very festive!
