SHQ Christmas Party, totally finished quilt - stair step

Thursday (12/11) was our quilting party at SHQ!

Michael didn’t golf as it was too cold, so he loaded my car and then he and Ed went out to lunch and then the driving range, while I was enjoying a variety of treats:

We had a birthday celebration for Floy:

and with my honey's help, I tried to up my decorating game for my gift:

but it was still picked next-to-the-last :~(.

We played left-right-center first with a theme of red/white fat quarter fabrics, and the absolutely best part was, our newest member, Vielka, who doesn’t really have a stash….won!!!!!!! 

I didn’t get home until 1:30 PM and I was so psyched up from the party and all of the fun, that I got the pink quilt off of the frame, and then spent a lot of the afternoon pulling together a blog entry and getting it out. 

After that I felt I deserved a break, so I poured a drink and picked up a new library book and that took care of the rest of the day :~).  

We watched another movie in the evening WHITE CHRISTMAS….one of our favorites every year....Vera-Ellen is an INCREDIBLE dancer.

I was up early on Friday (12/12), my one day this week where I didn’t have to go anywhere!  Actually, the dentist tried to get me to come in (as the day after my crown was put on top of my implant last week, it came out!), but I wasn’t having any of it!  I think I go in sometime next week. 

First up was weaving in ends on the pink quilt, and then getting another customer quilt loaded up: 

I was originally going to work on my own quilt tops, but I currently have 4 to be bound, so I wanted to quilt a quilt I don’t have to bind….and that means a customer quilt! 

I also worked on the binding of one of my quilts: 

I worked on both of those all day, eventually joining my honey upstairs for dinner and snuggling together for the evening.  However…I have a HUGE question for you….both of us were really tired and decided we were going to get into bed early….at 9:30 Michael said let’s just watch a half hour show and go to bed and I said ‘’yes!’’.  He put on something that I basically dozed through I was so tired.  Then he took the dog out and I took care of the cats and we did our evening ablutions before hitting the sack before 10:30 PM….where I think proceeded to toss and turn and toss and turn….WIDE AWAKE for over 2 hours!!!!!  What’s up with that?  I could barely keep my eyes open right before we went to bed….only to get some kind of second wind  :~(…..it’s so very frustrating!

On Saturday (12/13) while Michael was out freezing his buns off on the golf course :~). 

I started quilting my customer quilt:

and continued to work on my binding:

  By the time Michael came home from golf (with a 96), I was 3/4 of the way done with my customer quilt, and also had another TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT: 

I even had time to start the binding on my 2^nd of 4 quilts:

before getting cleaned up, picking Sandy up, and headed to Crossridge for the Holiday Tenors.  What a fabulous show!!!!  Not all Christmas….lots of THE 4 SEASONS covers and others….we loved it and enjoyed talking with the performers for just a bit before leaving. 

We were home by 8:30 and enjoyed several cooking shows before bed.
