To remind you, here’s what Trump said on “Meet the Press” that aired on June 7:
“The [2020] election was rigged. It was a dirty election … And it’s happening again right now in California…. they’re cheating on the election. … they’re crooked…. You know that these elections are rigged. … Your elections in this country … are like a third world country. Your elections are crooked.”
When Trump lies with this kind of vehemence, does he sincerely believe what he’s saying — in which case he’s seriously demented? OR does he know full well it’s a lie, and part of his strategy for the 2026 midterm elections is to undermine public trust in our electoral system, especially in predominantly Democratic states and cities — in which case he’s traitorous?
I think it’s both — he’s a traitor to America and he’s seriously demented — both a knave and a fool.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel know full well that the incidence of voter fraud in America is near zero. They’re playing along with Trump because, well, they’re just traitors.

Wednesday & Thursday (6/17&18) we had a wonderful 2 day quilt retreat at Belair. We couldn’t stay at our regular meeting place, because the seniors are there every day but Thursday, but the space at Belair was just as nice! A beautiful, light filled room, with plenty of tables for all of the quilters:
a lovely kitchen where we served all of our food:

and cutting and ironing stations as well. As usual at a retreat, people were very productive:

Diane...working on TEENY TINY pieces for a row by row sewing themed quilt!

I got all of this fabric cut Tuesday night....and finished off the top at retreat

We met from 9:30 – 4 PM each day and it was just lovely.
I had an extra lovely surprise on Thursday afternoon, Janice arrived for probably her last visit from North Carolina:

She and Dennis have received and accepted an offer on their house in North Carolina, and their closing date is set for July 8th. They will be moving to a furnished apartment in Connecticut and that way they will be on-the-spot to check out any houses they seem interested in. Although I will be sad to see them go….Janice and I will continue to video chat once a week, and I’m sure she will still be visiting for retreats and such. I am so happy for them!!!

On Friday (6/19), Janice quilted all day, while I sewed on a:

And contrary to her previous behavior, Xena behaved like the perfect lady I knew she could be…..not a single thread break!!!

She was so good, that Janice got her entire quilt done, and even got it mostly trimmed. Since everything worked out so well…Janice is planning on heading home a day early on Saturday….since her entire house needs to be packed up in 2 weeks!!!!

Janice got her quilt totally trimmed Saturday morning (6/20), and I continued to work on my:

Janice left around lunchtime:

and I read my book for a bit before heading back to the studio. I worked all afternoon, and got the inside of my:

all completed. Now I just have to work on borders. In the meantime, my honey was watching the US OPEN all weekend.
And 10 years ago....
*** I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. I haven't lost a pound. Apparently, you have to go there. ***
*** Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise', I wash my mouth out with chocolate. ***
*** The advantage of exercising every day is so when you die, they'll say, 'Well, she looks good doesn't she.' ***

Sorry to see Janice and Dennis moving away but life must go on.
The food at the retreat and the quilting done there are of equal bountifulness!
