SHQ Show & Tell 1/26/23, Lucy

Michael dropped me off at quilting on Thursday (1/26) as he needed the car to get to PT for his knee. I continued to work on my Strip Twist blocks until show and tell:

-a teeny, tiny sewing machine

After that, I bummed an early ride home with Diane, which I really needed to do. I am visiting Janice next week and ideally, if I could take 5 quilts to be bound, I know I could get them done in a totally enjoyable atmosphere…unfortunately, at this very moment in time…I have NO quilts to be bound :~(. Well, that’s not strictly true…I do have 2 on the to-be-bound pile, but I need both of those to demonstrate binding at my class on February 9th….so I need to get other quilts quilted, and binding and labels made. So, I fired up XENA and got my program set up for the diagonal QoV and kicked off quilting:

I worked on it all afternoon and was very glad I left quilting early as I was on the last row by just after 5 PM….however, I must have mis-marked my advancement of the quilt, as the last row started stitching over the previous row in places….so I spent 1-1/2 hours ripping out less than 5 minutes of quilting time :~(. Finally, I got it all done:

I continued to work in the studio in the evening, as (thanks to Janice) Michael was watching the UCONN ladies basketball team (Janice told me that they were playing and what time and station to find the game).

I had a GREAT Friday (1/27)!!! My honey knew I wanted to get a lot done, so he brought me breakfast:

I got both of my quilts all cleaned up and off of the frame and trimmed:

Of course, this generated a new pile of fabric to be re-claimed:

and I got 2 new embroideries done:

Lucy decided to supervise everything I was doing all afternoon:

Michael came down in the afternoon and made some progress on the OBW:

We had a late dinner, so I had time to get another double length of backing loaded for 2 more men’s quilts that I hope to make progress on over the weekend.

We had salad and pizza:

for dinner, and I cleaned up the 2 embroideries and a QoV label:

while we watched TV.

*** I planned to work out and have a nice body for people to look at this summer, but then I remembered that I like food more than people! ***

*** My quilting studio isn’t going to clean itself…..so let’s just close the door!!! ***
