Freya got another bath on Thursday morning (8/17); our neighbor Kay said that it took several baths to get all of the stink off of her shelter dog! I left her home with Michael while I headed to Scrap Happy, just for the business meeting…and of course, show and tell:
I stopped at the consignment shop on the way home and dropped off a huge box of donations….Michael helped me to clean out some drawers and I sent a lot of the beautiful jewelry I used to buy at craft fairs and wear to work.
Michael and I and Freya all headed downstairs to work…and after dragging all of her toys into her bed…she took a nap:
-how can this possibly be comfortable???
I started quilting on Pam’s quilt….I love this design on this quilt…big old fashioned roses…the kind that still have a scent when you see them in someone’s garden:
and Michael worked through his emails.
We got ARBY’s fish and chips for dinner, and I headed back to XENA after dinner and the quilting was all done by 7:30 PM:
I headed back upstairs and snuggled with my honey and Freya while we watched TV before bed. We weren’t as lucky overnight…I figured that Freya was just totally exhausted on Wednesday with everything being all new, so she slept all night. Thursday night/early Friday morning, Michael got up and took her out at 4 AM because she was crying in her crate and she pee’d outside. She started crying again at 4:30 AM, and I took her out and she pooped. She wouldn’t settle down when I put her back in her crate…so I dragged her crate into the TV room and placed it on the sofa. I settled in beside her and reclined the seat….and she went right off to sleep…and I got a bit more sleep too! I think she was just lonely and missing her litter mates.
I'm re-posting this one becasue I don't think anyone really appreciated it...they were too busy reading about Freya:
This one may not be true for everyone, but it has certainly been true in my life:
*** Sometimes I check out my cleavage and think WOW!! So that’s where the rest of my cookie went. ***
Thank you, my friends For comments on my small, pink quilt. Deb surprised me with an absolutely gorgeous cabbage roses pantograph! I still have my Mama's sofa in a cabbage rosé design. Yes, I’m old fashioned, & even quite vintage myself. Haha! Thank you for Deb, for knowing me so well & for choosing the pattern. I picked. up my quilts today & am having such a happy day!
I never have a cookie problem, potato chips would be another story!😂
Congratulations Freya on doing your 'thing' outside! She is a fast learner. My sister and brother-in-law's Bull Terriers would sleep with their heads hanging over the edge of the sofa, which also looked extremely uncomfortable. The Show and Tell quilts and dolls are great! I love Pam's rose quilt! It looks like an old fashioned quilt.
Getting house broken 2 days in. Good for you. Maybe a teddy bear or something snuggly in her crate would help keep her feeling like she was still with her litter mates.
She's napping right now! 3
