SHQ Show & Tell 9-16-21

Current COVID related deaths: 688,488

COVID deaths yesterday: 685,295

Those of you who think that social distancing and wearing masks to protect the vulnerable and elderly members of our society are violating your ‘’freedom’’ and ‘’rights’’ are forgetting that many of those same elderly people were forcibly drafted into the military, gave up years of their lives, saw their friends die, and suffered irreparable psychological damage to protect your right to complain about wearing a mask.

I picked up Paula at 9 AM on Thursday (9/16) and headed off to quilting. I’m not 100% sure how the topic started, but I ended up hearing how Loree and Reg met….a blind date that her girlfriend was supposed to go on, but got sick and couldn’t go. She called Loree and begged her to go so that the guy wouldn’t get stood up. For a variety of reasons Loree kept saying no, but her friend kept begging and begging and finally Loree agreed to go. She went on the date in March….and they were married in May!!!! They will soon celebrate 60 years of wedded bliss…isn’t that an incredible story?? I forgot to ask if the original friend was upset that Loree got married from that blind date!

We had a good time (as always) and show and tell was amazing:

And this incredible handerchief quilt from June. Her friend gave her the hankerchiefs 5 years ago, and June wil be giving them back in the form of this finished, gorgeous quilt:

We were home by about 1 PM and I got through my emails and got my blog out while my honey headed out on a shopping trip to ALDI’s. I spent time after that cleaning up my customer quilt and getting it off of the frame, and my customer was SHOCKED when I called to say that it was done. They swung by to pick it up, then I called Paula to take a golf cart ride….I missed out on donating to Volunteers yearly fund raiser and there was a woman on AMBLESIDE who had raffle tickets….so we hustled on over there.

By the time I got home, it was time for Michael to leave for his call-back at the playhouse. I watched TV and knit while he was gone, but was excited to hear all about it when he came home at 9 PM. He has been cast as Fred in EVERYTHING I NEEDED TO KNOW, I LEARNED IN KINDERGARDEN at Fort Mill Community Playhouse.

Marge's (?) patriotic bento came out really nice. That was quick!! Also, when is Michael's play scheduled? ...just in case we can visit to see it.
