If you ever want to find the reason we are divided as a nation, remember tRUMP blamed Democrats before the assassin (of Charlie Kirk) was even identified.

I had a foot doctor appointment first thing Thursday morning (9/11) and the healing of my big toe is coming along well….but since it is not 100%, I decided to put off the surgery on my other big toe until it is fully healed….so that will happen in October.

I wasn’t late at all to quilting, and it was the second class for the chandelier quilt.  Two of my student’s tops are totally finished, others had their blocks all sewn into rows, others had all their blocks made…and one person hadn’t started cutting.  About typical for a class with that many students…..I think they all loved the 2 new examples of chandelier quilts I made to show them how different it could be with a different background.

I didn’t have to stay with my students as they all pretty much understood what they should have been doing for the day…so I got to visit all around the room and that was just delightful.  The one cool thing was…I got LOTS of nice compliments on my hair (Lisa cut off about 7 inches!)  We only had a little show and tell:

-this is Sara's class for next month

and I left shortly after lunch.

I did so much work on Wednesday, that when I got home from quilting, I felt entitled to sit in the living room, talk with my honey and read my book.  I got a text from one of my students about her binding while this was happening, and since she lived so close, and I was just goofing off, I thought I would pop over and help her.

I was at Marvella’s house for over an hour, but she got her binding totally attached to one side of her quilt…and I think I taught her a lot.  I left with a new plant, and a frozen coconut margarita for Michael!

I stopped at the dog park for a bit as I saw him there on the way home, before finally getting back home to my book….and a drink of my own  :~).  My honey fixed us this lovely salmon wrapped around crab filling for dinner:

and we settled in with TV before bed.

I spent all of Friday morning (9/12) on my computer….trying to get through a mountain of emails as I have fallen seriously behind.  Finally,  my butt couldn’t take sitting on that seat anymore and I got to do some fun things :~).

I got the 4 corner triangles on my new chandelier:

so that top is done and ready to be quilted since I decided not to put borders on it.  And I got my binding made:

ree

Then I loaded up a quilt from Sara:

Michael and I left for a super early fish fry at METRO DINER:

ree

(and it was yummy), then came home and put together a Spanish Coffee Cake with apples for our company.

Carol and Ed:

ree

and Judy (Larry came down with a cold/COVID just a day ago)

ree

arrived at 7 PM for another rousing game night…but this time we played the horse racing game:

ree

OMgosh…so much fun and so weirdly exciting!!!

Judy was the big winner for the evening and everyone enjoyed the coffee cake and extra Baklava cookies I kept from the ones I made for the golfing banquet. Judy brought me a beautiful, miniature orchid plant:

ree

which I am really going to try very hard NOT to kill!! Carol said if it gets a little punky looking, to give it to her for a few weeks and she will bring it back to life :~).

And...Nancy C was kind enough to send pics from the cookie table at the golf banquet Friday night....so sad we couldn't make it...but loved the pics:

I have no idea what time Michael left for golf on Saturday (9/13) as I was still asleep after being up half the night with a dicky tummy :~(.

I didn’t make it to the studio until 11 AM, and worked on setting the diagnostics on my longarm machine back to the pre-update settings, before setting up a new program.  Jimmy (my dealer) warned me about changing my diagnostics in the middle of quilting….so I held off until I finished that massive quilt I was previously doing.  I loaded up a charity quilt, set up the program and kicked off the quilting:

While that was stitching, I worked on a bit of quilt math….thinking of changing the size of a block on a new quilt I want to do.

Michael and I got cleaned up and headed to Waxhaw around 7 PM to see THE FRAGRANCE OF BOOKS at the Storefront Theatre.  It was a wonderful play, and we even got to see and talk to some of our neighbors there.
