During his remarks at a Kennedy Center event today, President Trump claimed that he's "saving the heritage" of the White House by demolishing the East Wing. Trump stated, "It's saving the heritage."
Say what now?!?!?!?!?!?

Michael packed most of my stuff in the car Wednesday night, since he left at 8 AM for a chiro appointment on Thursday (12/4). Quilting was wonderful, although there was not much show and tell:

I’m sure there will be TONS after we’re all off for Christmas and New Year’s Day.
My honey took a long walk with Freya (even though it was freezing!) and got some pics of lovely holiday décor:

I was home by 2:30 from quilting, anxiously awaiting the arrival of a special guest:

She jumped right in to loading up her quilt:

It’s a donation quilt for a local women’s shelter...isn't it gorgeous?!?!!? Janice makes the most beautiful quilts....all from leftovers (i.e. scraps that people have given her).
We had some leftovers for dinner before leaving for the cookie decorating class:

-our practice sheets

-Janice, Iris, me!

It was a HOOT! Janice had never done anything like that before and she really liked it. When we got home, Michael ooo-ed and ahhh-ed over our cookies, before eating one.
Janice and I were both exhausted and just vegged in the living room for a bit before bed.

We were all up early Friday morning (12/5) to get all set up for the annual Christmas tea. We were done early and Janice even got another pass done on her quilt before people started arriving just before NOON (I think I got almost everyone):
-Ginny & Ann Mary

-Kathy & Diane

-Sue & Susie

-Donna & Pam

-Janice & Pat

-Janet, Marvella & Sharon

-Pam & June

-June & Floy

-Gale & Donna

-Jan & Kathy

with lots of great food:
-check out Janice's totally upscale deviled eggs

I had homemade Bailey’s for my naughty tea….and a sugar free chai mix for my nice tea! I think everyone had a good time….the level of noise during the proceedings certainly attested to that. Everyone was gone by 2:30 and Janice and Michael and I proceeded to clean up and kick off the dishwasher….after that, Janice and I weren’t really good for much of anything for several hours :~).
We got a bit of a second wind (or at least Janice did) and she finished off her quilt:

It was a wonderful day.
I have to show you this cool thing from Kathy....she took my picture of Freya:

and made it Christmas:

Isn't that totally cool!

Janice and I spent a bit of time visiting Saturday morning (12/6), and I got a run of Susie’s toffee made, before Janice took off for home, and I took off for Jan’s to return her lanyard…that got lost on the floor in the front bedroom.
We headed out for peppermint milkshakes at Chik-fil-a (her treat!):

before I dropped her off and headed back home.
I had time to get cleaned up and changed before Ed & Carol picked us up and we met up with Diane & Mark at Burton’s.
-Michael, Ed, Mark

-Diane, Carol, me!

We all had terrific meals….we started off with General Tso’s cauliflower:

which was unbelievably good, then I had a General Tso’s bowl:

and Michael had salmon.

We went back to Diane and Mark’s afterwards and played 5 CROWNS (Diane was the big winner!) and chowed down on dessert.
It was a wonderful evening and we didn’t get home until almost mid-night….which put us in bed just before 1 AM!!

I spent Sunday morning (12/7) putting things away in my studio and getting a blog entry out. I did manage to load a backing on XENA, and get a run of pretzel toffee made:

but that was as far as I got doing anything productive! Going to bed at 1 AM makes me totally useless the next day….guess I’m just getting old. I lazed around, watched some TV, read a bit, napped a bit and in general, got nothing done….a normal day for some people :~).
And 10 years ago....
(sing with me now) *** He's making a list....checking it twice....left it at home....texting his wife! ***
*** I lost my car chapstick, and now my purse chapstick is in my room, and my room chapstick is in my car and now my whole life is messed up! *** (if you substitute the words ''reading glasses'' for ''chapstick''....this is totally me!!)
*** Christmas time is great because you can yell ''DON'T COME IN HERE'' and people think you are wrapping presents...when really you just want to drink your wine in peace and not share your chocolates with anyone. ***

Janice’s quilt is gorgeous
I loved the Christmas Card
As always, such a lovely Christmas Tea! Thank you for the Christmas Cheer. Xo
What a great entry! Love the funnies, as usual.
