Thursday (10/17) was all about quilting! We had a wonderful, lively group….picked up a new member (due to her seeing my quilts in our local library)….with 2 more in the wings…and just had an all around good time. We had great show and tell:
-Sandy did 2 of these quilts....just alike
-Sonya's bowl from class last week
-Denise is teaching herself how to do Baptist fan on her domestic machine....looks PERFECT!!
and I just relaxed with a book when I got home, until my honey got home around dinnertime.
I had thawed out some potato/corn/ham chowder for dinner, but wanted to make something special for Michael. So, I mixed up Artisan bread on Wednesday (it has to sit for 24 hours before baking) and baked off a loaf to go with our dinner:
I haven’t made it in forever and it truly was OUTSTANDING!

I worked in the studio Friday morning (10/18) and got a quilt loaded:
I set up a couple of different programs, but wasn’t happy with any of them. I paused to do intake on another customer quilt…and saw a new pattern to try in my book that I thought might work better on the quilt I just loaded. It had to wait for Saturday however, as Friday afternoon was spent on another installment of COOKIES WITH IRIS!!!
We made Chocolate Truffle Cups:
and they were a huge hit with our neighbors/Iris’ famly/Michael and me!!!
I also wanted to send Iris home with a special treat….so since the oven was on, I cranked up the temperature and threw in a loaf of Artisan bread for her to take home:
It was still warm when she left…and her family LOVED it!
Iris had to leave a bit early to get to her sewing class.....looks like she made a boxy bag without the straps:
And our neighbors are all decorated for Halloween:

Michael left early for golf....and I spent a couple of hours knitting on Saturday morning (10/19) before heading to the studio. It has been a bit hard knitting in the evenings lately as I’ve been doing a lot with my hands and they are achy and sore by then, so I thought I’d knit a bit early in the day before my aches and pains settle in :~).
I spent the rest of the day quilting on the new quilt:
I love this fabric and the pattern on the fabric….makes me smile every time I look at it. I really didn’t want to take away from the colors in the quilt….so I decided to quilt with off-white. It really doesn’t show that much, but I love that you really focus on the piecing instead.
Michael and I had salads for dinner…and I even felt good enough to still do a bit of knitting!
And 10 years ago...
*** I went to an aerobics class the other day….I stretched, bounced about, fell over a few times….it was agony. By the time I’d actually got my leotard on…the class was over! ***
*** At my age, a trail of clothes leading to the bedroom…means I dropped them on the way from the dryer. ***
Love all of the Show and Tell quilting, the customer quilt, and your neighbor's Halloween decorations! The Chocolate Truffle Cups look fabulous as well as the bread! Would you share the recipe for the Chocolate Truffle Cups? Yumm!
