Covid-19 vaccines sharply reduced hospitalizations and emergency room visits among adults last fall and winter — but you won't hear that from the agency behind the research. The CDC's acting director blocked publication of the findings in the agency's flagship journal, sources said, even though the study had cleared internal review and was scheduled for release. I got a pear/ginger coffee cake baked:

on Thursday (4/16) to take to quilting. We had terrific show and tell::

-Pam getting a big jump on the charity pillowcases we will be making next week!

I got home around 3 PM and just vegged in the living room until Ed & Carol picked us up at 5. We headed to Waxhaw to meet up with Diane & Mark at SIP & CIDER.
I think everyone enjoyed their meals, after which we retired to Ed & Carol’s house to learn 2 new games. The first was called SKYJO (or something like that), and it was very similar to the golf game we play with a regular deck of cards. I think Diane was the big winner there. Then we tried a second game….which was WAY TOO FAST for all of us and Ed & Carol decided it would be a good game to play with their grandkids. It was a really fun evening and we were home by 10:30 and read for just a bit before bed.

I got bread going Friday morning (4/17) before heading to the studio to get my quilt trimmed. In the meantime, Michael was walking the dog, dropping off fabric at Paula’s, taking my car to get it washed and filled with gas, and a couple of other errands before leaving for his LLB lunch at NOON with the guys.
Janice arrived around 1 PM and got busy loading up a quilt:

She worked on that the rest of the afternoon, stopping only for yummy pierogis for dinner, before heading back to quilt.
Janice and I left the next morning for QUAP (QUAP 2026), and the blog continues with when we returned....
Saturday morning (4/25) I spent a lot of time on the blog, and then we attended 2 ‘’celebrations of life’’ in the afternoon, 1 at the Lake House for our friend Jerry P, and 1 at the Lodge. The Lodge meeting was for Dar, a neighbor on our street who succumbed to breast cancer, so they brought the breast cancer fire engine:

to the celebration.
We had tickets to Crossridge in the evening, but Michael’s stomach started playing up when we got home, so we just settled in for a quiet evening at home.

I got a quilt loaded up on XENA on Sunday (4/27)

after first getting a label put on the front of it:

and started to put the binding on my second king sized bed quilt:

The bad news is….XENA continued her pattern of breakage….and the worse news is…my binding machine got all discombobulated and is no longer working :~(.
I took everything apart and cleaned and oiled it, but every time I try to sew, I am getting bird’s nests on the bottom. Considering I have 5 quilts to bind…this is not good news :~(.

Michael left for golfing and I spent Monday morning (4/28) with the craft group at the library. When I came home I made a nice breakfast before heading to the studio for more frustration….more breakage on the long arm. I continued to try to quilt, while also working on CONNECTIONS blocks, and by dinnertime I had 3 more done:

Michael and I finally celebrated my safe return from QUAP with champagne and puffy things (fried mozzarella and little spinach/cheese bites) while watching INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE (the one with Sean Connery!)

*** One of my favorite adult games is: Did I take Tylenol 30 minutes ago? Or did I just think about taking it 30 minutes ago? ***
*** Apparently, stress balls are not supposed to be thrown at people who are stressing you out. ***
*** I haven't tried yoga, but I have tried bending over to pick up my keys....so I'm pretty sure I'd hate yoga. ***

I'll be the first to comment!
