The last 3 government shutdowns....
October 1st, 2025 President tRUMP
December 22nd, 2018 President tRUMP
January 20th, 2018 PresidenttRUMP
It's almost like there's a pattern here.....
*****************************
''Health care for illegal aliens'', is the new ''Aliens are eating cats and dogs in Springfield''.
The Republican playbook hasn't changed.....make up a baseless lie....repeat it every chance you get....hope and pray that everyone blames Democrats for the crisis you created.
***************************
And congratulations to the United States for making the Human Rights Watch list for the first time in 249 years, under the leadership of tRUMP, just in time for his administration to mark the occasion by proposing to break Federal law and slap his face on a 250th anniversary coin.

Do you see this nutty kitty:

Do you know what she is lying on? Our kitchen chairs need to be recovered, and so Michael took the cushion off of 1 of the chairs and it is laying upside down on the kitchen table….and Lucy is lying on it!!!!
Thursday (10/2) was all about quilting…Michael loaded a ton of stuff into my car and off I went. We had a LOT of show and tell:

and wonderful food (it was our monthly luncheon) and I got home after 3 PM, after stopping at the foot doc’s for a checkout of my left toe. He said that healing was going well and that I didn’t need to see him again!
I read in the afternoon when I got home, and Michael and I played cribbage in the evening (while watching another episode of SOMEBODY FEED PHIL), before settling in with UNFORGOTTEN on PBS.

Friday morning (10/3) I picked up Sally and we headed to breakfast at METRO DINER. We both had yummy breakfasts before heading into Pineville to see about getting my kitchen chairs recovered. I was SO VERY HAPPY that Sally agreed to come along, as she pointed me in a direction for fabric I never would have gone…but I am THRILLED with!!! Can’t wait to get them back in 5 – 6 weeks…in the meantime, Michael and I need to be content sitting on folding chairs :~).
I was home by 1 PM and headed to the studio to load up Rick’s quilt:

I paused after that and spent a good bit of time straightening my sewing room and making room on my table for BG, who will be here NEXT SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michael and I got cleaned up and left at 7 PM for Diane & Mark’s house….we spent the evening playing 5 crowns, and laughing and talking and eating wonderful rum cake and key lime squares. It is always so relaxing and fun to get together with them. We were home after 11 PM and read until mid-night before heading to bed.

OK….I have totally corrupted Michael! We were talking yesterday (Friday) and he said…’’so tomorrow for dinner we can have our leftover enchiladas and champagne and just stay home and snuggle’’….and I agreed 100%!!! Sounds wonderful and I am thinking about it all day!
So this morning (Saturday, 10/4), I’m downstairs in the morning and Michael calls me and says ‘’I have Crossridge (an entertainment venue) on my calendar for tonight at 6 PM’’. I say…oh no….WHAT?!?!?!?!? So, I look at my calendar….same thing…then I go to my email and look in the folders where I keep our e-tix…and yep…there it is….Neil Diamond tribute performer…..6 PM. And we’re both a little depressed. Oh well….guess the champagne and snuggling will have to move to Sunday night…and this is why we buy tix in advance….or we’d probably NEVER go out!!!!
I spent the day working on Rick’s quilt…and it was back breaking work….let me tell you why. I have definitely done at least 100 quilts with fleece on the back with nary a problem. BUT…..I have 2 bolts of fleece…the last 2 I bought…that have given me nothing BUT problems. This fleece is labeled the same as all of the other fleece I have bought, but I can feel that it is softer…and I am ALWAYS getting a pleat in the back of the quilts!!! It drives me batty…I don’t know how it is happening, so I was determined not to let that happen anymore. That means that I spent the day, on a stool, bent over and looking underneath my quilt, making sure it wasn’t stitching in a pleat. Only God knows what was going on, on the top, while I was doing this! I’m not sure my neck and my back will survive, but so far I am 40% of the way done and so far….no pleats!
Michael and I had a quick dinner and headed out to Crossridge at 5:30 PM for a FABULOUS show!!! He did a ton of Neil Diamond’s top hits and he was terrific, with a lot of biographical info about the songs and Neil himself. The only irony was that he always closes his show with COMING TO AMERICA, which he said he felt represented the spirit of American….I have to say, that might have been the spirit in the past….but certainly not in these times :~(.
And 10 years ago....
*** The best murder weapon would be a Tupperware lid because no one would ever be able to find it. ***
*** These can't be the same knees I used to jump out of a swing mid-air and land with. ***
*** The perfect job for me would be the person staining things for detergent commercials. ***
Loved all of the quilts, especially the 'Bee' one and the one with the houses! Such talent!
Such wonderful quilts this week!
So much quilting at your church group!!!! WOW!!!
