Spinny Wheel!, MESIG Show & Tell

President Donald Trump continued his obsessive attack on Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) during his unhinged Truth Social spamming spree in the early hours of Friday, January 23, demanding an investigation into her personal finances based on debunked conspiracies.

I got the rest of Sandy’s first quilt loaded up Saturday morning (1/17) and kicked off the quilting:

I worked on that for the whole day:

and by dinnertime, it was done. While it was stitching out, I got a border put on my Thursday quilt….and I think it really frames it nicely…..it went from this:

to this:

And I have enough of that blue to make binding, although I haven't made it yet!

We had leftover chicken pot pie for dinner before picking up Pam and heading to The Storefront Readers Theatre for the inaugural performance of THE ACCEPTANCE…a heart warming story about life not turning out the way you think it will!  The author was in the audience and they had a talk back session with him and the members of the cast after the play.  We were all home by 10 PM and read for an hour before bed.

I haven’t hit my spinny wheel in forever because I have had definitely things I wanted to get done quilt-wise….but I have conveniently been forgetting that I have ‘’chores’’ on the wheel as well as fun things….so Sunday morning (1/18) I hit it…and sure enough, one of my chores came up:

Now, when we got Freya as a puppy, I bought a big lamb for her to sleep with….that was ok for several weeks as she snuggled in with it, and then we found out that she was just like Cookie and would rip a hole in it and take all of the stuffing out!  So, I took the 2 soft toys (with holes) away from her…and they have been living in the bathtub ever since….time to sew them up and donate them to the shelter! So the lamb went from this:

to this:

and it literally took me FIVE minutes!!! It's been living in the bathtub for TWO YEARS.....for a 5 minute task.....sigh... I talked to the woman I always bring stuff to for the shelter, and she is going to keep it for her foster babies (she has kitties a LOT) to snuggle up with! I decided the much smaller stuffed animal was already too ''unstuffed''and just chucked it.

I got Sandy’s first quilt off of my frame Sunday morning and got the ends woven in and got it trimmed.  I loaded up the second one:

and started stitching:

While that was going on, I got the rest of the red blocks arranged on the newest QoV:

and started sewing it together:

I’m hoping to have it off of my design wall by the time Iris comes over Tuesday morning….as she has all of her blocks done and will be laying out her quilt!

I got about halfway done with the stitching on Sandy’s quilt by dinnertime.

We had a 50% off coupon for Domino’s Pizza, so that was dinner and I knit the night away while watching the first 2 episodes of the new season of WILL TRENT with my honey. Thanks goodness it hasn't gone totally dark like 2 of the other dramas we have been watching (Tracker and Murder in a Small Town).

OMG!!!!!  It was 27 degrees when I got up on Monday (1/19) and the grass was definitely white and crunchy when I took Freya out!  I fired up XENA to keep working on Sandy’s second quilt…and continued to sew together my QoV.

Around 1 PM I headed to the Lake House for Machine Embroidery….so you know what that means….lots and lots of beautiful things:

I was home by 3:30 PM and by 6:30 PM I had finished my quilting and headed upstairs for dinner with my honey.

And 10 years ago....

*** I heard the more colorful your salad is, the better it is for you. So, I replaced

my croutons with M&M's. ***

I think Tracker will be back after the Olympics. The football playoffs and the Olympics play havoc with TV schedules.
