I did intake on a customer quilt Sunday morning (6/4) and then Michael and I spent some time SKYPE-ing with the kids in New York.
Ed & Carol picked us up at 1 PM to head into Charlotte for another play: DETROIT 67…here’s the synopsis: The world is shifting for two siblings running an after-hours juke joint in their basement to make ends meet. But when a mysterious woman finds her way into their lives, the siblings clash over much more than the family business. Currently among the top five most-produced playwrights, Dominique Morisseau’s powerful play unfolds an explosive moment in our history – the uprising that shocked the city of Detroit in 1967 – set to a vibrant soundtrack of the day's Motown music.
We all loved the play, the acting was superior....and we decided that since Actor’s Theatre is no longer around (where we had season tickets) we all would look into season tickets for Theatre Charlotte.
We headed to LOS ASTECOS (sp??) in Indian Land for Mexican food for dinner, before settling in with our books for a couple of hours, then a tiny bit of TV before bed.
It certainly was a theatre weekend…and one of the SCCL couples that was at Fort Mill Saturday night (that we know slightly), was also at Theatre Charlotte on Sunday….too fun!
