Totally finished QoV, SHQ Show & Tell

Job growth is slowing to levels not seen since the pandemic. (President Trump fired the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, hours after a stunning government report showed that hiring had slowed down significantly over the past three months. The president implied without evidence that BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer manipulated the data "for political purposes.")

Inflation is up as more tariffs hit.

Meanwhile, tRUMP is opening his new golf courses, planning for a $200 million White House ballroom, and diverting taxpayer $$$ to renovate his ''free'' jet from Qatar.

WOW - I never knew making America look great could look so bad.

It was too hot for my honey to golf on Monday (7/28), but he met the guys for breakfast after they got through 9 holes.

I spent most of the day working on Pam’s quilt and finally got it done by late afternoon:

ree

I also spent time working on a new range finder holder for Michael:

We’re still cleaning up the pasta salad and tomato pie as dinner…yum!!!

When I was at quilting last week, one of our new members admired my nametag…and when I asked if she wanted one…the answer was an enthusiastic ‘yes’, so that’s what got embroidered Tuesday morning:

ree

I may have made it a bit too thick…guess I”ll find out on Thursday!

The rest of the day was spent getting the binding on 1 side of a QoV:

ree

I have promised this to someone for next week…and would like to have it done for show and tell on Thursday….so that’s all I’ll be working on until it is done.  Michael left for the movies around 6 PM, and I finally got caught up with the current (probably old now!) GRANTCHESTER season on PBS.

***************************************

Wednesday morning (7/30) it was time to make more pickles (for the 3rd time!):

ree

I have to tell you a funny story….BG has been making refrigerator pickles all summer and the first time she saw mine, she just ROLLED her eyes and said to herself ‘’of course my BFF’s pickles are rippled!’’  Hers are just straight….being cut with a knife.  I laughed and said I was cutting them on one of the mandolines I bought at least FORTY years ago at the Big E in the Better Living Center…..gosh…I miss the Big E to this day!!!  Anyway, after I got them sliced and draining with kosher salt, I headed back to the binding on my QoV.

I worked on the second side of the quilt:

ree

on and off and it was finally finished before I left to go water walking in the pool with Susan:

This is the class I will be teaching at SHQ in August and September.

Michael and I were both up at the Lake House…he was working out on the machines while I was in the pool and when we came home, we read a bit in the living room before I headed back downstairs to get another quilt ready to be bound.

Thursday (7/31) was all about quilting.  I was a hosting quilter, so I arrived around 9:00 AM and didn’t leave until close to 3 PM.  It was a charity day and there were TONS of people there….it was GREAT!!!

We had wonderful show and tell:

I made good progress on my new stair step quilt….2 new-ish people saw me working on it and they want to make it as well!

I was a total vegetable when I got home and we decided to have pizza for dinner while starting a new series on NETFLIX.  I know we are ‘’late to the party’’ on this one, but we have started watching SIX FEET UNDER…it’s pretty quirky, but funny!

And 10 years ago.....

*** I have found it helpful to organize chores into categories:

-Things I won't do now....

-Things I won't do later....

-Things I'll never do. ***

*** Apparently, the serving size for chips is 10 chips. Listen, I eat 10 chips while trying to decide if I wanna eat chips!! ***

*** On a positive note....I am now too old to have a mid-life crisis. ***
