Totally finished quilts (3) - golf, baby for Dr Minal, donation

ICE just zip tied a bunch of non-white kids, in the middle of the night, from an entire Chicago apartment building at gun point. This is what our country has become...and I no longer want to associate with people who are not worried about this because it is not happening to them.

I read this statement the other day, and truly believe it: ''it's no longer about politics, it's about values/morals.''

In case you don't think this is important, here's a quote from the DIARY OF ANNE FRANK:

''Terrible things are happening outside. Poor, helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.''

OMG!!! I totally missed some show and tell from last week's Scrap Happy meeting. I took a movie of all of the panels from Denise (and I have to up load movies differently than I do pictures), then forgot to up load it....so here you go....more eye candy from our fabulous quilters:

And....I totally forgot that my honey sent me a bunch of cool pics from the car show he attended on Saturday:

I got up Sunday morning (10/5) determined to finish quilting on the golfing quilt (I guess Ginger Snap is my new favorite pattern...I think it looks good on everything!)

ree

and it took me most of the day….but finally, it was done…and with no pleats!!!!!

Hopefully over the next day or 2, my neck and back will recover…..just kidding!  I am thrilled with how quickly this came together and can’t wait to get it bound, labeled, and in the mail!

When I came upstairs from working, my honey left me a beautiful gift:

Michael and I finally had our leftovers from Juniper grill for dinner….every bit as good as the first time, and with champagne over frozen strawberries….spent the evening watching the end of season 2 of UNFORGOTTEN and the latest GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW!

My honey was up and out Monday morning (10/6) for golfing with Mark….and eventually came home with an 89!!!!!!!!  He was a happy camper!!!!!

I got the golf quilt bobbin ends all woven in and the entire quilt off of the frame and trimmed.  I made binding, and spent the rest of the day getting it attached, so by dinnertime I had a TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT:

with a lovely label as well:

With a little bit of luck, this will get into the mail this week!

When I signed onto NETFLIX for our viewing in the evening, I got a nasty shock…..6 FEET UNDER will be leaving on October 31st, and we are only on season 2!!!!!  So, we’re going to have to concentrate on watching that for the next 3 weeks…hoping to get through it all.

On Tuesday (10/7), Michael had a follow-up appointment about the neuropathy on his feet, as well as a haircut.  I spent the day in my studio….

and have another TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT to show for it (thanks for the inspiration of the block Janice!):

This is a baby quilt for our glaucoma doctor…I hope she likes it!

Wednesday morning (10/8) we headed out to drop off the baby blanket at the office, which is right beside the hospital where we had an appointment to check out Michael’s pacemaker.  His battery is coming to the end of its effectiveness and will probably have to be replaced in the next 6 – 8 months.  When we were outside waiting for our car to be delivered afterwards, some sort of air raid siren went off....it was incredibly loud and went on and on! I absolutely was waiting for black hawk helicopters to fly over and then for the bombs to be dropped! (I called the Pineville Police Station on Thursday, and they indicated that the nuclear power plant in Rock Hill was testing alarms around that time and that's what they thought it was).

On the way home, we stopped at SUMO and split a yummy bacon/egg/cheese on a brioche roll before I headed off to a massage.  I was home after 2 PM and managed to get the binding on one side of a 3rd quilt:

before stopping to talk to my honey and have dinner.  Michael reminded me that he wanted to go to the Democratic meeting up at the Lake House, so I happily headed back to the basement and created another TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT:

Three finished quilts in 3 days….I am one happy camper!!!

And 10 years ago.....

*** People always talk down on sweets, but who's always had your back during tough times? Definitely not lettuce. ***

and just for you Michael *** Last night my honey asked if I had seen the dog bowl....I replied ''I didn't know she could''. ***

*** I am now ''take a picture of labels with my phone, so I can blow it up and read it'' years old. ***
