Evan Hill, Jarrett Ley, Alex Horton, Tara Copp, and Dan Lamothe of the Washington Post reported that Iranian strikes since February 28, when U.S. and Israeli air strikes began, have caused far more damage to U.S. military sites in the Middle East than Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the U.S. government have admitted.
While the damage from the Iranian strikes, which have killed and wounded servicemembers, is itself important, so is the underlying story: the U.S. government is hiding the true cost of the war in Iran from the American people. The journalists note that it is “unusually difficult” to get satellite imagery from the Middle East right now because less than two weeks into the war, the U.S. government asked two of the largest commercial providers of satellite imagery, Vantor and Planet, “to limit, delay or indefinitely withhold the publication of imagery of the region while the war is ongoing.”
The companies complied, forcing the journalists to turn to high-resolution satellite imagery published by Iran’s state-affiliated media, cross-checking it with lower-resolution imagery from the satellite system the European Union uses.
Global affairs journalist David Rothkopf wrote today in The Daily Beast: “Not since Vietnam have we seen a more systematic effort by an administration to lie about the nature, costs, consequences, and results of a war than we have seen from the White House on Iran.”

Monday morning (5/4) Michael was up early for a golf outing, and I headed to the studio to continue working on stuff :~). XENA was fired up again and by lunchtime, I finished off my customer quilt:

and also started working on the binding for my HST quilt:

I continued working on it in the afternoon and by dinnertime I had another totally finished quilt:

I read my book for a bit in the afternoon while Michael was at the dog park with Freya, then headed downstairs to get another customer quilt loaded up.

Michael left again for golf on Tuesday (5/5) and I headed to the studio to get another customer quilt basted and the program set up.

Across the first half row, I had 5 breaks in my thread :~(, so I shut everything down.
My new dealer (because my original dealer has gone out of business) recommended silicone spray, so I got that ordered and am on hold until it arrives (I notified my customer and she said the delay was fine....she is not in any hurry).
Instead, I worked on putting the binding on another quilt, and by dinnertime, I had another totally finished quilt…another QoV:

Since I’ve now done the binding on everything on my to-be-bound pile….and my long arm is not really working….so I won’t be quilting anything of my own for awhile….my machine is all packed up and ready to go to Norm so that he can get my needle threader working again.
Michael got picked up after 6 PM for the movies (MICHAEL – the Michael Jackson biopic) and I dug into my project box to see if I could move my QUAP quilts a bit further along. I got my 2 tops measured and labeled and into my ‘’tops’’ closet…and I also found scraps that let me complete the last block for a QoV. After that I just settled in to watch TV until Michael was home.

I video chatted with Janice in the morning on Wednesday (5/6), then spent about an hour and a half getting Michael’s flower arranging all ‘’glued’’ down:

After that I broke out one of my new, fat quarter bundles and got the fabric all starched for a pattern. I made this pattern once before (it's the HST quilt shown above), but cut it incorrectly and had to do a lot of finagling to get it to come out right….so this time I will alter the directions a bit (to make them clearer) and cut it correctly. I guess I’m going to be doing some piecing, with my long arm out of commission…and no other quilts to bind.

I love your HST quilt! It is so colorful. I cannot wait to see the finished quilt with all of the "glued" flowers!
There’s that beautiful blue & black fabric again! I still love the quilt I made from that fabric.
I am the third commenter!!! YAY FOR PICTURES!!!
