Valentine roses, Totally finished QoV, Janice & Dennis, MESIG Show & Tell

President Donald Trump is raging privately at allies who called out his racist video post, according to CNN White House sources.

Trump posted a video to his Truth Social account last week that contained an image depicting President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes:

When does this guy ever get any presidential work done? He's always up at 2 AM or 3 AM...ranting like a little baby about perceived slights....and then sleeping through meetings.

I was determined to finish Sara’s quilt on Friday (2/13) so I was up at back at XENA by 8 AM.  While that was stitching, I was working on the binding for a QoV:

I love this QoV pattern (my first time making it), but changing from blue to red binding (and thread and bobbin) halfway through is a pain in the PA-TOO-TIE!

I worked on Sara’s quilt all day (except when I headed to the Lake House for 1-1/2 hours to meet with a trainer about my balance) and by dinnertime it was done!  Iris and Mario and the girls stopped by in the afternoon to drop off Valentine’s presents for us…a bouquet of the most beautiful colored roses:

and home made cookies!!!!

Michael and I decided to have our Valentine’s Dinner tonight because tomorrow we will have company.  The idea was for loaded baked potatoes and this crab stuffed fish we love….but I didn’t realize the fish took AN HOUR to cook…and since it was already 6:30 PM when we started to make our dinner, we decided to just go with loaded baked potatoes:

and champagne with frozen strawberries.  He picked up hald of a decadent chocolate cake at Hrris Teeter, and that was a yummy dessert…and in memory of Catherine O’Hara (who died recently), we watched BEST IN SHOW.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!  I was up early on Saturday (2/14), and got all of the ends woven in on Sara’s quilt and got it trimmed before settling in with my own crafts.  I am finally ready to start embroidering flowers to go with my One Block Wonder quilt (it will be wonderful to finally get this done as I remember first working on the blocks during the pandemic....across the kitchen table from Paula)

I finally got a flower design loaded and tried to stitch it out on my embroidery machine but my tulle is too flimsy/soft as a stabilizer, so I have set that aside for now.  I plan to go to Hobby Lobby on Monday for some other things, and I will look for black nylon net….I hope they have it.

Since that wasn’t working out, I got back to my latest QoV and by lunchtime I was ready to start stitching the binding to the front side of the quilt:

I worked on that until late in the afternoon for another totally finished quilt:

Janice & Dennis showed up at 4: 30 PM (they’re flying out of Charlotte Sunday morning at o'dark hundred for 2 blissful weeks in Hawaii!)

and after dinner we played FIVE CROWNS, where on the last hand…I unexpectedly became the winner!

We woke up Sunday (2/15) to a rainy gray day.  I got another QoV loaded in the morning:

And got everything set up, basted and kicked off quilting:

The rest of the day was spent working on a binding:

except for the hour long nap I took in the afternoon :~).

For dinner we had our full Valentine’s dinner….crab stuffed fish, half a loaded baked potato, and wonderful chocolate layer cake for dessert.

I was up early Monday (2/16) to get a jump on my QoV, as I know I have a customer quilt coming in, in a day or 2.  I also continued to work on binding, and before I left at NOON, I was ready for the second side.

I spent the afternoon at Machine Embroidery with all of these lovely and highly talented ladies:

We had lots of tips on hooping and stabelizers, and as usual, gorgeous show and tell:

I headed downstairs when I got home as I wanted to finish off the quilting on the QoV and it was done by dinnertime:

And 10 years ago....

*** That apple-a-day thing is a lie....apples are dangerous....just ask Eve, Snow White, or any pig at a luau. ***

Yikes! Now I want to purchase the Mahjong pillow!

I think your QOV is “class worthy.” Are you interested in teaching it to us? Or me?
