Wednesday - Thursday - Friday

Wednesday (8/7) was a wonderful day.  Michael left for 9 holes of golf while I stayed with our furnace guy as he put in a new thermostat for the downstairs.  He put in a new one upstairs when we had all of our air conditioners/furnaces changed out….but the print on it was SO VERY SMALL I hated it, and would not allow him to put it downstairs.  He went back through all of the choices and found one he thought we would like, but I was away from the house when he came to put them in…and I would only let him replace the upstairs one until I had a chance to live with it to see if I liked it.  It is MUCH BETTER than the previous one….so finally it was time to upgrade downstairs.  After that, Sally & Gale picked me up and we headed to Juniper in Ballentyne for lunch:

I am so sorry I didn’t take any pictures of the food because it was terrific…and the brownie dessert (that the 3 of us shared) was out of this world!  I swear that brownie was just melted dark chocolate and butter…with a tablespoon of flour baked in :~).  Michael came home shortly after I got home and we talked for a bit, then read our books for a bit.  We had dinner and I asked Michael if we could watch a movie, so he found the GREEK WEDDING 3 movie on AMAZON Prime (neither one of us had seen it) and it was excellent!

I had such a relaxing morning on Thursday (8/8).  I made my usual cup of tea for the morning, and shared it with our furry babies, out on the lanair…just sipping away, relaxing, and listening to the rain.  I finally made my way downstairs…and after my honey delivered breakfast, I spent time on the phone with a guy from Norwegian cruise line answering a bunch of questions and getting all set up….MICHAEL AND I ARE CRUISING WITH BG & FRIENDS IN 2026!!!!!!!  I can’t wait…it should be so much fun!!!  Eventually I got a double length of fleece loaded and the first of my wheelchair quilts:

before stopping for dinner and a movie…..we watched BOOK CLUB 2….I really enjoyed BOOK CLUB 1….but 2 seemed to drag a bit…oh well….

Friday (8/9) was another lovely morning spent on the lanair…sipping tea and running through my emails and texts.  It rained all day…and our sunflower stem finally got broken:

I got busy after that…while Michael and Freya were out walking…and made a chocolate ice box cake for tonight, before heading to the studio.

I got my quilt basted yesterday, but spent time today setting up the program and winding bobbins before kicking off the quilting:

I worked on that most of the day, along with sewing together some crumb blocks I am using for a leaders and enders project.

I headed upstairs around 5 PM to have dinner with my honey and take a shower so I was presentable enough for Diane and Mark and Bob when they showed up at 7 PM:

-my honey, Diane & Mark

-Mark and Bob

We played SCREWED and GOLF and had a lot of laughs.....and everyone seemed to enjoy the ice box cake as well:

My honey gave Freya a new bone at the beginning of the night...and she was quiet and content for most of the evening:

And enjoy these gratuitous pics....

-does this woman look familiar???? (The fiesta ware should be a HUGE clue!!!)

She should...it's Corinne in her new digs! June and Laura were at Bonnie Hunter's QUILTVILLE last week...(over to the right in the pic!)

and visited Corinne on the way home

And friend Nancy finished her quilt top that she has been working on at Thursday quilting...wonder what she'll work on next? I think I might do this with my 2-1/2'' leftover strips....instead of 4 patches....I like that it uses less background fabric than 4 patches.

You look so great in your rainbow colored gingko dress! Very stylish! I have a pair of gingko earrings and pin that would look great with it! The ice box cake looks great too!
