Michael packed the car Thursday morning (11/3) and I stopped at WENDY’S for breakfast before heading to quilting. I was a host for the opening, so after my partner and I got everything set up, I set up my own sewing machine and started working on all of the bits and bobs I took with me. I got my 2 labels cleaned up and pressed (that's the ripped off stabelizer to the right):
I got binding done for the rainbow butterfly quilt:
Then more binding for the 2 religious quilts:
before starting on more HST’s out of leftovers for my 5th (and I think final) blue and white quilt:
I didn’t think we had a large group at quilting, but we had lots of wonderful show and tell:
This is the hiddne wells pattern that Jan H and I taught at quilting many, many years ago...
This is a challenge quilt...based on Alice in Wonderland...
I asked Sandy D to put her hand on the quilt so that you could get the scale of her blocks....look at that square under her thumb!
I stopped at Pam R’s on the way home to drop off some cotton thread that someone had donated, and so didn’t get home until after 3 PM. I read my book until we had a late dinner of leftover pizza.
Someone donated this pattern at quilting...if anyone is interested in having it, please let me know:
Do you know why I really LOVE this time of year? I am an inveterate recipe collector…..truly, I literally have thousands saved. They’re save in WORD docs, on PINTEREST boards and some I just have links to. I still read 5 – 10 cooking/baking blogs per week…and I just can’t stop myself from saving more and more and more recipes!?!?!?! BUT, this time of year, everything is pumpkin this and pumpkin spice that, and neither Michael nor I like anything remotely pumpkin….so I get a respite from saving recipes and my addiction is under control for a month or so :~).
