Tuesday (2/6) was all about working on the current customer quilt. I started at 9 AM, and quit quilting at 7:30 PM. I think I can finish it up on Wednesday. She has so many different fabrics in this quilt….everything from Dr Seuss:
to Christmas:
to everything in between:
Michael came down while I was working and laid out my Thursday quilting blocks:
I am 2 short, so will have to work on those before I can start sewing it together.
I wanted to show you what I've been doing...thanks to a suggestion from BG on my One Block Wonder quilt. I've been working on this new bed quilt....and each time I iron, I've been sliding the seam underneath my tailor's clapper. I haven't been beating anything...I just lift up the clapper:
and place my still warm fabric seam on the pile, then set the clapper on top of the pile:
and let it stay there until I add the next chain pieced unit to the pile. Everything cools while under the clapper and I cannot believe how much flatter my seams are....it is just amazing!
My honey left for the movies just after 6 PM, and I headed upstairs after quiltting quilting and knit while watching THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES.
And lots of good info from 10 years ago...
More from June:
It was that time, during the Sunday morning service, for the children's sermon.
All the children were invited to come forward.
One little girl was wearing a particularly pretty dress and, as she sat
down, the minister leaned over and said, 'That is a very pretty dress.
Is it your Easter Dress?'The little girl replied, directly into the minister's clip-on
microphone, 'Yes, and my Mum says it's a bitch to iron.'
When I was six months pregnant with my third child, my three year
old came into the room when I was just getting ready to get into the shower.
She said, 'Mummy, you are getting fat!'
I replied, 'Yes, honey, remember Mummy has a baby growing in her
tummy.' 'I know,' she replied, but what's growing in your bum?'
Love my clappers too!
I remember that stuff about the Sunshine Boys! Pre casting!!! Nice to see that we had clean cabinets....once upon a time!!!!!!!!!!
