Friday morning (12/10) we all hopped up early to get ready for the tea. I got my mulled cider in the crockpot, while Janice and Michael dragged our chairs and get them set up. Michael set up 2 in the kitchen….and within 5 minutes we had this:
Then I went to get my plates out of the cupboard, and when I came back, I had this:
Anytime something new shows up (especially an empty space/box/bag), THEY ARE THERE!!!
People arrived at NOON with lots of good food:
both sweet:
and savory:
and if the noise level was any indication…everyone had a good time:
Pat, Karen & Gale
Ginny, Ann Mary & Kay
Janice S
Linda, Sue, Susie, June, Paula (and the back of Joann's head)
Rosalie & Pam
Anne, Barb, and Barb
I got pictures of most of the guests! The last of our guests left just after 2 PM, and Janice and I spent 30 – 40 minutes getting the dishwasher going and all of the napkins and tablecloth in the laundry room, before collapsing and doing nothing else for HOURS!!! I don’t know why both of us were wiped out…because there really wasn’t that much work to set up for the tea….but we sat in the living room for FOUR HOURS….reading, playing games on kindles, talking…just relaxing!
We finally roused ourselves in the evening and headed over to Paula’s to pick up MORE FABRIC that she had for Janice (Pat brought a HUGE bag of fabric to the tea for Janice)…and we ended up staying for at least an hour…just visiting! Once we were home again…it was back to relaxing the rest of the night!
*** There should be this little wine truck that drives around the neighborhood in the evening…playing French music. And we would hear it and run out with our money and wait for it. Like an ice cream truck….but with wine. ***
Reisling on a stick please!!
