We ran Cookie down to the vet’s first thing Monday morning (3/13)…she’s been off her feed for several days, and she’s back to having diarrhea…..I think her pancreas is acting up again…we’ll see as they will try to work her in during the day.
After that I made my morning tea and headed downstairs to get all of my bobbins wound for my customer quilt. I think I will need a lot of them, as the quilt is huge and the pattern is very dense….sometimes it is a pain only having 1 spool of each color for my longarm, but to be truthful, I have neither the storage space nor the $$$ to have 2 spools of everything. So, I try to guess how many bpbbons I’m going to use on each quilt and wind them all before threading up my machine.
Anyway, I kicked off the quilting (west wind...my favorite pattern!):
and dropped back to the:
By early afternoon I had the secret project sewn together and the first border on. The second border was on by 5 PM (after a quick trip to pick up our baby):
No pancreatitis (so that's good), but no idea why she has an upset tummy. She's lost another 2 pounds and is very, very thin :~(.
Once I had 2 borders on the secret project, I paused to ask opinions of a couple of quilting friends. I really wanted a third border, but wasn’t sure if that would make the quilt too big. This time majority ruled and a third border got the OK.
I stopped at 6 PM to have a quick dinner and then spent a bit of time cutting & piecing and getting the third border on. By the time I headed upstairs just before 9 PM, the top of my quilt was done….YAY!!!
A few more pics to add some brightness to your day...these are both purchases from the Charlotte Quilt Show...I know I mentioned our cruise this summer...and I had just been thinking that I should make myself a swimsuit cover-up, when I saw this at a booth at the show:
It will go beautifully with my suit...and I think it will also dress up a few other outfits I have.
And then, I was in the media room with Michael before the show and I said ''maybe I should make a small quilt for myself for this room as every once in awhile I want to throw something over me''. So, when I saw this jelly roll, I just had to have it....either a throw for me...or a baby quilt...not sure which, but it just made me smile...it looks like spring:
And last but not least, this is the new QoV pattern I bought from that woman that does all of her own patterns:
*** You can’t buy happiness….but you can buy fabric…and that’s pretty DARN close! ***
That cover up is just perfect for you. Xo
LOVE the Van Gogh looking swim coverup. Very stylish!
