The guys left before 8 AM for golf here at SCCL on Monday (9/12) while Janice and I headed to Corinne’s for fabric shopping. Corinne switches out her quilts regularly...these are just some of them (lots of thread painting going on in these first 2):
Corinne is also a prolific collector of fiestaware....and has it displayed all over the house...this is just a tiny bit of what she has:
Janice kept bragging that I spent more than she did…and technically she’s right….but only about 6 bucks :~). Here’s my fabric from Corinne’s (June....see that stripe on the right like yours.....can't wait to see it in Jerri's striped quilt pattern):
and here’s Janice’s:
I LOVE Janice's fabrics...but I am absolutely NOT ALLOWED to buy anything in the green/teal range....as I already have TONS!
I think I scored more good fabric for men’s quilts….so I’m psyched about that.
We stopped for lunch at a Thai place on the way home; I had a chicken with ginger dish:
while Janice had a red curry dish (which I will absolutely order next time!!)
and we also hit PIKE’s for some cast gifts and the liquor store before getting home around 1:30.
I was really tired and tried to take a nap…but nothing was happening, so we headed downstairs. Janice worked on getting her quilt all cleaned up:
and after that she worked on my fabric closet while I was folding Corinne’s fabric. She did a WONDERFUL job sorting all sorts of stuff into donation piles and organizing my pre-cuts and other bundles of fabric I have tied together for future projects.
She found LOTS more leftover batting (which I had totally forgotten I had started to sew it together until I saw it again), which she is taking home to HER quilt guild as they are going to have a franken-batting party in the near future. (Franken-batting is when you sew all of your leftover pieces together, to get a bigger piece you can use….you know…like Frankenstein being made up of all leftovers :~).
Paula and Doug came down on the spur of the moment to play TRIPOLI for a couple of hours….the only bad thing was….it really made me miss my parents.
Corrine's quilts are absolutely gorgeous, especially the second one!
Until i got to the bottom, i was jealous cause i thought p&d brought donuts. Lol
I miss them, too.
