I hopped up Sunday morning (6/5). My face is still obviously swollen, but Michael feels it is definitely less than yesterday and my headache is 98% gone (for which I am SO, SO VERY thankful!) We had a little scare in the morning when Michael thought he had a scratchy throat…but we did a COVID test and he tested negative….so again….something to be very grateful for.
I got busy in the kitchen and made the second set of cookies to send on the golfing trip:
Yesterday’s offering was Butterfinger Surprise cookies…..today’s is Michael’s favorite giant chocolate chip cookies (which I forgot to add pecans to :~(. I got my blog out after that, then showered and changed and was ready to be picked up at NOON. While we were waiting, Michael showed off his 9 feet tall sunflower:
We had tickets with Carol and Ed:
to see FIDDLER ON THE ROOF at the Belk…..so off we went. OMgosh!!!! The stage sets were incredible….the choreography was AWESOME…their voices were all top notch…it’s been so long since we went to a professional theatre production….everything was so wonderful! We had orchestra seats and they were excellent!! It was 3 hours long:
and at the end of the curtain calls, Tevye talked about how the story is still going on currently with people being displaced in Ukraine…and they dedicated the performance to those people.
We were originally going to go out to dinner afterwards….but with my face being the way it is…and with the guys eating all of their meals out for 4 days straight on the golf trip….we decided to can that idea. We were home by 6 PM and had chef’s salads for dinner, after which I made the 3rd treat which was Mississippi Mud Brownies:
