I was up at 6:30 AM on Tuesday (6/4)…my mind was going a million miles an hour and I just couldn’t sleep any longer. I got laundry in, and did a bunch of paperwork before heading to the studio. I got my blog out and fired up XENA. I have a lot of rows on this new quilt and each row takes a long time to stitch out….so I wanted to get it done!
Michael left on a bunch of errands….I had so many piddle-y little things for him to do that he made a list so that he wouldn’t forget (the bank, the library, dropping off a check to pay for some shoes, the bank, dropping off dog toys for shelter, post office to mail something to AJ, BJ’s to fix glasses and stop automatic renewal, pet store, bird store)…luckily; they were mostly relatively close by.
My new longarm customer came by to pick up her quilt and said that she loved it….and she’d be back soon! That was good news as the density of the quilting was very loose to me…but she liked it! By then it was late enough that I could get a bunch of phone calls done…and believe me…that was a load off of my mind…now I’m just waiting for people to get back to me.
I kept on quilting and by the time Michael left for his monthly Mustang meeting…I was done:
Good thing as thunder showers moved is as I was finishing....so XENA was immediately shut down!

Wednesday morning (6/5) was SKYPE-ing with Janice…..we had lots to get caught up on as she has been on vacation for 2 weeks and we haven’t really talked. I had a quick breakfast afterwards before heading off for a massage…heaven!
I putzed around a bit once home…and did intake on another customer quilt, then started to do the clean-up on the Beds=Dreams quilt:
That took awhile, but finally it was on the (ever growing never getting smaller) to-be-bound pile!!!!!
By then, thundershowers moved in again….so that put the kibosh on loading up anything else on XENA and it was back to cutting for my leaders and enders project, as I have sewn up everything I had previously cut.
I was looking for red fabric for a friend, and found a TON of red and blue HST’s…..many of them needed the dog ears trimmed off of them, so that’s what I spent the evening doing:

Thursday (6/7) was all about quilting and show and tell:
-this was Gee's finish from Judy's rapid fire Hunter's Star class a couple of months back
-Laura submitted 3 quilts to her old guild's quilt show and this was one....
-which won a blue ribbon!!!!!!
-this was her second one...and again....a blue ribbon!!!!!!!
-when she held up this one, she said it didn't win a blue ribbon....
-it won a purple ribbon (which is a higher score)!!!!!! AND.....AND....a judge's choice ribbon!!!!!!!!!!
-another top for our Veteran's luncheon in November
and food:
It was a particulary wonderful Thursday as Diane returned after being gone so long to Scotland....and I re-connected with an old, old friend Nancy, and she has decided to re-join Scrap Happy as well!!!!
I didn't end up getting home until 3 PM, as I had to stop at Hobby Lobby. Now, whenever we expand our kitchen table, I am always irritated that I don't have a tablecloth for it....and I KNOW I'm going to want to expand the table for this social event later this year. On Wednesday my brain finally woke up and I remember this gorgeous teal/aqua 108'' wide fabric I had previously bought at HL, but used on the back of a QoV we made for someone at Scrap Happy.....and I thought ''that would make a perfect tablecloth....I'll just buy some more and quilt it...voila!'' I went on-line and found out that this is the week for 40% off of fabric (they do it every other week), so I decided to stop on the way home:
Then, I went to Scrap Happy, and did a napkin ripping demo, and one of the women had this gorgeous Christmas fabric...and I don't really have nice Christmas napkins, so I asked where she bought it and she said HL, and I said ''when'' and she said ''this morning'', so I added that to my list:
Then I decided to also look at the 108'' wide for a Christmas tablecloth, as again, I don't have one for the expanded table...I just wanted something plain as I always want my Christmas china to be the focal point:
I also grabbed a double length of 108'' muslin for the backing of the tableclothes. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything I bought!!!!
I started to load up the backing for Leila's quilt...and her fabric is OUTSTANDING:
Purple batik with veggies....I've never seen anything like it and I LOVE it!! I got the batting and top laid on, but by then I was beat, so Michael and I had a late dinner of baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese sauce, and then I knit while we watched TV.

*** So….I just clicked ‘’accept all cookies.’’ How long before they send me the cookies? ***
FABULOUS Show and Tell!!! Love the fall looking quilt!
What a great pic of Laura!
