On Friday my throat felt a little funny, and I thought it was because I had slept with my CPAP on wrong (that happens sometimes), but by Friday evening it was clear something else was going on. I took a COVID test, but was negative and when I woke up Saturday morning (10/14) I was still feeling a bit punky. BUT, you can still longarm, even when you don’t feel 100%, so I continued to quilt on Pam’s quilt. I am LOVING the spider web design :~).
I also started to layout a quilt…I made these blocks at the QUAP retreat earlier this year (back in April):
and when I laid it out to sew together….I decided it was too skinny and needed another row….so it’s been put away in a drawer since then. Today is the day I will figure out how many more blocks I need and what color….and work on finally finishing the top.
Turns out I need 10 more blocks….so I got those cut and sewed and finished the layout:
I really want to start something new….but I have several quilting UFO’s that I need to finish first. For me, finish means a totally finished top, with the binding made. Then I am content to hang it in my ‘’tops’’ closet (which never seems to get any less full :~):
and get it quilted as time permits. Of course, I have to be careful about my quilting, as anything of mine that gets quilted, needs to be totally finished by the end of the year (meaning labeled and bound)….I like to go into the new year with everything tidied up. This four Patch Frenzy QoV is one of those UFO’s, and I created a couple more at the Fiber Floozie retreat….so I’ll eventually be working on those as well.
By then it was time for dinner and date night, and Michael and I watched the movie A MIGHTY WIND….which we both absolutely LOVE!
*** I don’t know the secret to happiness…but I’ll tell you what….I’ve NEVER been sad at a Mexican restaurant. ***
