Friday morning (11/17) was full of errands…first to the vet for a heartworm test and pills for Freya, then to UPS for a notary for the 20 pages of legal documents for the closing on my sister’s house in Virginia, then to the bank, then to FED EX (at WALGREEN’s if anyone needs it…they can mail it, but they have NO supplies, so get those somewhere else) to send the documents for the house closing on Monday. I had a bit more paperwork to take care of when I got home, but was finally quilting again in the afternoon.
I still didn’t get the dog quilt finished by the time we stopped for dinner, took showers and headed off to the theatre. I loved the play so much last weekend, that I just had to see it again! Michael had lots of fans in the audience: Pat & George, Sharon & Keith, Dennis & Sue, Maury & Marcia, and June and me!! June and I got to sit together as well…so that was lovely. The play was just as good the second time around….and when we got home, we were up until mid-night before finally heading for bed.
So...normally when I have a vote on something, it is uncanny how it always ends up 50/50...no matter what people are voting on, invariably the split goes right down the middle (with Michael and me often on opposite sides :~). BUT NOT THIS TIME!!!!! The overwhelming choice was for purple leading. Mary Lee explained it well:
''Black- it adds more definition and modernistic styling to the quilt- the purple just fades/blends in. So it all depends on what look you want.''
Well, I can't believe I changed my mind...but I did. I LOVED the black when I first saw this quilt...and the modernistic styling is what appealed to me...but when I saw the strips of black vs purple laid out across the fabrics....I guess I liked the blending in....and so did Michael (which is the most important vote!!) so....purple it is....I started cutting it yesterday :~).
Ooooo-oooo, I just got an email RDFS is coming back to PBS!!!! I watched season 1 of this (which is still available on PBS passport) and season 2 starts November 24th….doctors in the Australian out back…the acronym is Royal Doctors Flying Service…it is WONDERFUL!!!!! And of course, the new holiday special from CALL THE MIDWIFE will be on December 25th.
You know how they say ''2 lines....no waiting?'' Well...guess we'd better figure out a second line....
