I have not seen Gale in FOR_E_VER….and she came over Friday morning (7/29) and brought bagels and fruit for breakfast:
Everything was wonderful and we sat in the kitchen and got all caught up!
Michael and I had a bunch of bills and chores to get out of the way once she left, but eventually I made my way downstairs and tried to talk myself into finishing basting the quilt. I think I’ve fallen into a habit of laziness….for far too long (5 weeks!!) I have just been too exhausted (or in too much pain in the early weeks) to do much of anything except read and sleep and watch TV...but today, I feel much better, but am having trouble getting going mentally :~)…does this ever happen to you?
When I first got my longarm, I told myself that one quilt per week was a reasonable goal…..well, I haven’t done anything for FIVE WEEKS NOW…..so I need to get my butt in gear if I hope to hit that statistic by the end of the year. Thank goodness eventually I talked myself into moving and just before dinner, I was all done:
I think this is the very first day since my knee surgery that I have not taken a nap…..YAYAYAYAY!!!!!!! Michael and I had a bunch of deliveries, so we headed out in the golf cart...got those all done, then ordered dinner.
He had a buy one, get one special that was only good today for ZAXBY’s…so we had dinner from there 2 nights in a row. I sewed for just a bit after dinner and got strips cut and put together:
for the border on Blues #2.
*** I only buy quilting supplies when I need them for a project….or when they are on sale….or when there is a really good coupon….or when I find something so beautiful that I just can’t leave it….or because I really just want them….ok? ***
Hard to turn the ambition switch "on" when it's been turned off for so long in recovery, but I have no doubt you'll be back energized and rarin' to go a little more each day!! I swear 6 weeks is the magic number...😉
My wife is almost back! Yay!
I agree on those 'quilting' supplies AND when I visit Corinne's !!! But I remain hopeful 😁
GREAT job on getting the basting done and your little 'push' to get motivated. Prayers for more, better feeling days ❣️
