Not surprisingly we got a very slow start Friday morning (6/30) after our late night Thursday night. You know, Cookie is still really struggling and getting her to eat anything is a challenge. We’ve taken to giving her her own charcuterie board for meals:
Sometimes we come back and some stuff is gone….you just never know what she might eat (or more likely turn her nose up at) on any given day or at any given meal.
A member of Scrap Happy had hip replacement surgery about 1-1/2 weeks ago. She was only home for 2 or 3 days when she fell, and broke her shoulder! I thought maybe she could use an extra bit of cheering up, so I embroidered a card:
I know it's kind of hard to tell, but it was done with variegated rainbow thread. I will take it to quilting next week for everyone to sign.
Eventually I started to layout the rectangular WALK ABOUT, making sure to keep my directional mermaid fabric always going in the same direction:
At this point I ran out of fabric, so dropped back to cutting more focus and sewing together more HST’s.
Pam stopped by in the afternoon to drop off another quilt, and Michael left at 4:30 PM for his second night of murder and mayhem…this time he was a nerdy weatherman:
This is what he had to memorize:
along with becoming familiar with another 6 pages of ‘’back story’’. He was home by 9:30 PM and guess what? HE WAS THE MURDERER!!!!!! Here's the cast:
It was one humdinger of an Independence Day parade mystery tonight! It’s not too late to schedule YOUR summer event with us: www.charlottemurdermysterycompany.com
I continued to work on my quilt while he was gone, and by the time I headed upstairs around 8 PM, my layout was done (do you see a different in the 2 pictures? Do you like one better than the other? Please let me know):
We watched a bit of TV and got to bed at a normal time….before 11 PM.
So, do you have spices that you like to measure out with a teaspoon, but there's no straight edge for you to use? Check out this photo:
I know it's hard to tell what you are looking at, but you are looking down on a plastic jar that used to be full of cinnamon. I put a piece of scotch tape across the top side of the jar (which is now brown due to a thin film of cinnamon sticking to it), so I would have something to run my measuring spoon against.
And BG is in the news again...check it out!!
*** Cardio? Oh, no thank you. I thought I heard Oreo. ***
Michael, I love the 'nerd' look! Congrats to BG! She is becoming quite the celebrity. My vote is for quilt #1.
I like the first one. Good for BG.
I like #1...
Sorry, I have a third option for the quilt. How about putting another block of the mermaid fabric in the corners instead of the V shaped block. Neither one of the other options thrilled me…..but I always seem to have an opposing opinion on these things. 😂
Also I have always suspected Michael had something to hide!😂
Yes, I was surprised - not having done these stories I know nothing!
