Friday morning (6/28) we were up and at ‘em early…Janice got her bobbins wound and program set up and kicked everything off:
She had a lot going on with her blocks, and decided to just do a simple meander quilting stitch so as not to distract from her pattern.
I got the inner border for Teal splendor ironed and applied (MAN…that quilt is already HUGE!!!) I was very glad to get the border on to stabilize the bias edges on the sides of the quilt.
I set that aside then and worked on another UFO. I had gotten the inside of a quilt done when I was visiting with Janice & June, but it needed 2 borders….so I got those cut and made and applied:
Meanwhile, Janice finished off her first QoV:
and loaded up a second one:
Janice and I had a late dinner of leftover Indian…just as good or maybe better than the original lunch…and vegged with our books.

Michael headed out for a Mustang rally Saturday morning (6/29). They met for breakfast:
which was INSIDE the car dealership, then drove to a place north of Concord where they make custom seat belts and other things for NASCAR drivers. He thought I would appreciate seeing the machines they use:
That looks suspiciously similar to my longarm!!
Janice and I had a visitor when we hit the studio:
So she took him back to the hedges at the edge of the woods…and waited until he felt safe and was on his way :~). She continued to work on her second quilt:
while I got binding done for the border quilt from yesterday:
and put it in my binding box:
Ya think I’d better start using some bindings???
We stopped for lunch, then I sewed together the backing for my latest customer quilt (thanks to Pam S this is a service I’ve added). This took me quite awhile as I was wrestling with a LARGE piece of fabric....and in the meantime, Janice finished off the quilting on her second quilt and started to clean up both of them and get them off of XENA!
When she was done, she helped me to load up the massive back I had just sewn and ironed, and I got the quilt top laid on and basted:
By then it was kinda late and you know me....I don't like to longarm when I'm tired, so I dropped back to another UFO….my QoV that I’ve been working on at Scrap Happy, but has gotten too big to comfortably work on there….I started to put the rows together:
After Janice finished up with her quilts, she asked if she could re-arrange the quilt on my design wall....I love what she did:
OK…who from Connecticut left me a message that said ‘’’We love Indian food…next time we visit, we’ll have to go’’??? It just says visitor 8929 for me…I don’t know who you are!?!??!?
*** A meeting without food should be an email… ***
Love Janice's QOV's! I also like her rearrangement of the quilt on the design wall. Very Nice! Cute turtle buddy!
GO Janice - nice work!
I, too, like how Janice laid out the green quilt. I also like her quilts of valor. What fun to have a quilting friend there.
Wow. Love what Janice did! Wish I could think outside the box like that.
