I SKYPE-d with Janice Wednesday morning (3/27), then Diane picked me up for lunch and we headed off to KATZ DELI. I had been rhapsodizing about the Reuben at Rein’s in Connecticut…and Diane said Katz’s was even better….so that’s what I had:
It was incredible….and even though I only ate half of it…..I was STUFFED by the time I was done. Diane had me home by 1 PM, and Michael said I had a thunderstorm free window until around 5 PM, so I kicked off quilting on the second quilt:
I worked on it until 8 PM….and with one more pass….it will be done! I know the pattern is hard to see....I think you can see it better on the back:
You know, when Michael and I go to Pineville (as we did the other day)…..which is not that often as we just have an eye doctor and heart doctor there….we generally stop at COOOKOUT for milkshakes (they are INCREDIBLE….I get chocolate malt, with an extra scoop of malt, and Michael gets chocolate chip). Anyway, I didn’t end up getting one on Tuesday and Michael wondered why….I told him that BG would be visiting in 3-1/2 weeks….and I see a lot of donuts in my future when she is here….so I have to pick and choose where I am spending some of my calories for the foreseeable future :~)!
And 10 years ago (note….when I am talking about Hobby Lobby….the only one was in Rock Hill!): https://foodandfiberfloozie.blogspot.com/2014/03/blueberry-coffee-cake-lorees-tumbling.html

Thursday (3/28) was quilting. We had a great group and a bit of show & tell:
-I LOVE this pattern and hope to make it one day....
-a simple 2 color quilt that I think is just stunning and dramatic
-Diane's king sized quilt
and I got in a quick stop at Hobby Lobby and a bit longer stop at ALDI’s out of the way on the way home. I got my re-fridgerated groceries put away, then took off for a hair appointment, where I ran into Pam (Thursday quilter). That was a delightful surprise and we got to talk a bit while we were being beautified :~). You know how southern ladies are always talking about their roots? Well, Pam was no exception….deciding to go back TO her roots:
-before.....
-and after.....
Doesn’t she have pretty hair?
I picked up sandwiches for dinner at ARBY’s on the way home…and since Michael wanted to watch UCONN in the evening, I got my quilting finished:
I got a wonderful video from Iris (knitting student), who said her daughter LOVES the sweater:
Another 10 years ago, with a great picture: https://foodandfiberfloozie.blogspot.com/2014/03/friday-night-dinner-charles-mary.html

I really wanted to get moving on quilting Friday morning (3/29), so while Michael took my car out to put gas in it and pick up a few things at the grocery store, I started cleaning up the ‘’Asian’’ quilt and getting it off of the frame:
I got it trimmed and on the to-be-bound pile…then did the same with the second one:
Guess I’d better start binding soon before that pile becomes the leaning Tower of Pisa! By the time I was done, it was time to change clothes and head out to a memorial service at Osceola. It was a lovely service, and luckily I got my crying under control relatively quickly…there was a young mother beside me with an adorable and oh so good baby boy and I concentrated on him. Once the service was over (and it was lovely....just perfect), I headed into Waxhaw to meet with a chef to talk about some food I am trying to get set up for a social event later in the year. When we were done, I had an appointment to pick up my new hearing aids, and finally arrived home around 6 PM with a DOMINOS pan pizza in tow.
Michael and I spent a quiet evening watching MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING 2.
*** Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going?
What disease did cured ham actually have?
How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage? ***
Happy Easter! Love all of the Show and Tell quilts. Your 'Asian' quilt is stunning!
Thx for the shout out! I love being able to “go gray graciously” with the incredible help of my talented hairdresser!
A malted shake with double the malt ?! Who would have thought. ;)
Where do the donuts come from ? Do you have a "Parlour Donuts" in the area ?
Great post. And great show and tell...
Just a comment from me!!!
Thanks for the remembrance. Has it been 10 years?? Happy Easter to you and Michael. And yes, Pam has beautiful hair. Love and hugs💕
