I got my latest 16 patch quilt loaded up for quilting on Saturday (3/21):

and worked on that most of the day:

I just had 2 rows left to go when I stopped for dinner with my honey and STARTREK IV – The Voyage Home.

I got the 2 rows of quilting finished Sunday morning (3/22) before we headed into Charlotte for GOD OF CARNAGE at Theatre Charlotte.  WHAT A PLAY!  Two sets of parents, getting together to talk about an altercation between their 11 year old sons on the playground.

I have to tell you a funny (or maybe sad) thing that happened in the lobby.  Michael went to get some water from the water dispenser, but couldn’t figure out how to open it.  I saw some other people go over who didn’t know how to open it either…then a young man showed them how to use it.  I decided to approach him and mentioned that I noticed how good he was with water dispensers....how was he with phones???  I explained that when I opened my e-tickets, I got a message that said ‘you can’t have more than 99 tabs open, so they closed one to open my tickets.’’ I said ‘’where are these mysterious tabs and how do I close them?’'  He showed me what I needed to do.  When we were leaving the play, I looked up and saw him in the control booth, and gave him a thumbs up that I had closed all of my tabs :~).  Thank God for young people!!!

I spent Monday morning (3/23) at the library:

with the craft group….getting home just in time to go with Michael to his pacemaker battery change follow-up appointment.  Everything looked great…the technician checked everything ‘’6 ways from Sunday’’…and was very pleased.  She said his bruising looked ok as well, and took a picture of it for his file.  We treated ourselves to COOKOUT milkshakes on the way home…and I relaxed and read my book for the rest of the day.

OK - I haven't had any quilting pictures for 2 days....so please enjoy these placemats, made by Janice for her local ''meals on wheels'' group:

I got a customer quilt loaded up on Tuesday morning (3/24):

and managed to get one pass done, before heading upstairs to get ready for our Fiber Nutz meeting.

I didn’t get to make my traditional reuben-wich for quilting in March (because we decided to do breakfast instead), so I made it for our Fiber Nutz meeting:

Also, I’ve been working on a quick brownie mix to have on hand instead of buying a box mix.  I made it for the first time last Friday and our guests said it was good, but I thought it could be better….so I made 3 tweaks to the recipe and made that as our dessert for Fiber Nutz….OMG!!!!  It is going to be very dangerous to have this simple/quick recipe as they were OUTSTANDING!!!!

All of my guests:

-Pam R

-Rosalie

-Karen

-Melanie

Connie

-Carol

praised both the reuben and the brownies ….so of course, I was a happy camper :~)

Karen (who does needle felting in both 2-D and 3_D) brought a lot of show and tell and it was phenomenal...I want to stress...these are NOT painted...they are needle felted with roving....:

-we all marveled over this dog's mouth....

-and here are examples of her 3-D projects:

We started our meeting at 1 PM and it went until 5!!!!

And 10 years ago....

*** A hacker called me and said he had all of my passwords.....I got a pen and paper and said ''Thank God, what are they?'' ***

*** Pepsi and Coke can't even be in the same restaurant together.....and we want world peace? ***

*** I just told my kids I"m older than GOOGLE.....they think I"m joking. ***

Karen does amazing work. I hope she doesn’t mind if I share her work with a friend who does the same thing but not quite as advanced.

I love every time you show the completed Reubenwich! It always looks so tasty! Would you be willing to share your 'revised' brownie mix recipe? OMG the 2-D and 3-D felted pieces! The little bunny and fawn are so CUTE! Such talent!
