Lucy, Cookie, Ethel

I had a massage Friday morning (8/26) and it was AWESOME. I was starving when I came home, so I started to sew the binding on another quilt (which I never got back to until Sunday!!):

while my honey made me breakfast:

Michael headed out on errands after that, while I headed downstairs. In trying to finish laying out the blues chandelier quilt, I discovered that my directions definitely need tweaking, so that took awhile to figure out! I didn’t account for having to add all of the background squares around the outside bottom and right side of the quilt:

I found some additional tone on tone white…and got most of the squares done, but I still need 5 more and I want to look through my scraps to try to make them.

After that I got a bit of cutting done for my Arizona Mary quilt:

I had soup for dinner (I put Mexican Chicken Soup in the crockpot in the morning for eventual delivery to a friend), while Micahel had leftover pizza. AND….I’m very jealous….friend BG is going to MSQC (Missouri Star Quilt Company) tomorrow!!!

Michael left before 8 AM on Saturday morning (8/27), although I chased after him to bring him his phone. I got sucked into a new library book all morning :~(.

I headed out around lunchtime with Paula to deliver soup to a friend who just had surgery, then got to see Paula’s fabric that she is thinking of using for the mystery quilt we are doing at Scrap Happy. She had a really good idea about my recently finished 3 men’s quilts. She suggested that I only donate 2 of them for dialysis…and keep the 3rd one for a few months, in case I hear of someone else who needs one. I like that idea considering how frantic I’ve been in the past when I heard of a need for a man’s quilt…and I had nothing to give…and so set about whipping some out!

When I got home my honey was there….with a score of 87 and a birdie. We talked as he cooled down, then he took a shower and headed out on errands (a new toilet seat as ours broke, and the bird store to pick up our cleaned bird feeders) and I finally made it back to my studio. I got my customer quilt basted:

and set up the program, got my bobbins wound and kicked everything off.

Lucy was with me….sleeping on the one remaining quilt needing to be bound:

Michael stopped at the new PEACH COBBLER store on the way home…so that was our dinner!

He came downstairs to do his emails....so of course Cookie:

and Ethel:

joined us.

We played a rousing game of cribbage after dinner, where as usual, he had a come from behind victory, and then we settled in with popcorn to watch the totally campy

SHARKNADO 5.

Can't wait for BG's next post!! Your AZ Mary quilt, What color are you going to use for a background? A creame would look great with it. I don't see it with white. Mine pull is just sitting here, Marinating, I need another piece to make 6.
