Michael was up and out for golf Monday morning (5/15) by 9 AM, while I spent the morning working on the QUAP blog post before loading up a customer quilt…well, I tried to load up a customer quilt, but luckily I just had a feeling about this one…and I was correct…the backing was not big enough for the quilt! My normal procedure is to measure the back and write down those measurements, and then pin it onto my leaders. THEN, I measure the front. This means that generally, if the back is not big enough, I don't know it until after I have done a bit of work loading it....so I'm glad I had a feeling about this one before I did any work. I called the customer and she ran over to pick up the backing to add to it….hope it comes back soon. So, I worked on the 4 patch instead:
until 12:30 when I headed up to the Lake House for Machine Embroidery club. We have a great leader who always comes up with new ideas…and there was great show and tell as well:
-indoor decorative flags were the order of the day
-as well as some outdoor ones...
-a table runner
-I have been looking for a 3-D bear pattern...especially one with embroidered eyes, rather than button eyes...this may fit the bill....now I wish I hadn't given away my fiber fill
I was home by 3:30 and spent time getting the SHQ minutes out before dropping back to the 4 patch. By the time I went upstairs around 7:30 PM, I had almost all of the center sewn together:
My friend Barbara has been making baby sets for co-workers of her daughter….they are gorgeous:
Another thing you missed....Michael got a call on a Monday a couple of weeks ago; a director was desperate for another man to play an Italian chef in a murder mystery dinner theatre on the following Saturday night. He accepted, and his lines got emailed and he started to learn them. He had to deliver a 3 paragraph speech at the beginning, and then all of the actors had to visit the participants and answer questions (ad-libbing all the way!) as the participants tried to figure out who the murderer was. The director said that Michael did an excellent job, and that she would definitely be calling him in the future....here's a picture of the cast:

Good looking chef. Way to go Michael!
All of the embroidery pictures are fabulous! Everyone is so creative. That is one handsome chef!
Don't buy fiberfill! I'll bring you some Thursday.
You’re getting into scrap quilts just like Janice. I would have thought the large squares were 3 1/2”
Atsa good lookin' chef, no?
