Friday morning (8/18), Michael headed out shopping (BJ’s, ALDI’s, the pet store, post office, gas) and I got to SKYPE with Janice….it’s been forever as she’s been on vacation in Connecticut and Maine for 3 weeks…they are coming home tomorrow.
After SKYPE-ing, I started baking….we are going to dinner tonight to a ‘’welcome to the neighborhood’’ party for our neighbor Sandy, and I’m supposed to bring dessert for 14 people. I was going to make 2 desserts because I didn’t think I had one that would feed 14, but then remembered my Mississippi Mud Brownies that are made in a 12’’ by 18’’ pan:
-there's a layer of brownies hidden under that pretty solid layer of mini-marshmallows:
-then I sprinkled on chopped pecans that I toasted in the microwave:
-and finally, a topping of melted chocolate
Wish Ralph was still living here as these are his favorite and I would certainly have dropped some off to him :~(.
My honey came home around 1 PM and told me he had a story I wasn’t going to like…he was 100% right…as he entered the post office, there was a ramp that he didn’t see and he took a very hard fall. He hurt his wrist, his chest, his shoulder and his knee. I settled him in front of the TV and loaded him up with ice packs and a pain pill.
I finally made it to the studio after 2 PM and started to clean up the customer quilt and get it off of the frame:
I also finally sewed my Thursday blocks into rows:
I showered and changed clothes and left at 5:30 for Kay & Pete’s house:
They had tons of people there….I definitely didn’t get pictures of everyone:
-Jim & Mike
-Jimmy & Ken
-Ginny & Sandy (new neighbor)
-Linda & Ann Mary
and lots of great food:
I only stayed for about an hour, then headed home to take care of my honey and Freya for the rest of the evening.
***I don’t need a personal trainer….I need someone to follow me around and slap food out of my hands. ***
I have been getting a lot of TLC!
Hoping Michael is feeling better.
Hope Michael is better today. You've got your hands full!
