One QoV finished

Michael left before 8 AM on Saturday (10/8) for golf, and I got through all of my emails while drinking hot chocolate and sitting in the living room…it was lovely….I’m so glad I got the kindle when we went to Tahiti! I was finally in my studio after 10 AM and I got my blog out and started to wind dark blue thread on a bobbin in preparation for taking tucks in the QoV quilt. I got it all measured and pinned where I wanted to place the tucks, when I noticed an email from Loree and I gave her a call. She is so wonderful….she talked me down off of the ledge :~)…we discussed the numerous quilts we both have gotten over the years with this same problem. The upshot of the call was, I’m going to get the quilt back to her and she is going to talk to the quilter about correcting the problem. I can’t tell you the relief I felt after I got off of the phone with her…I am so very grateful.

I took the second QoV and measured it…and voila…got it all basted:

set up the program…and started quilting:

My heart felt light again….at least I can contribute one quilt!

My honey came home around 2 PM….not exactly happy with his score of 90, but he didn’t have time to really worry about that as we had to get ready for this secret vacation!!! Anne stopped by to say hi to Cookie:

and talk a bit as we haven’t really seen each other lately.

After she left, I threw in laundry….continued to quilt…and started to cut for my ‘’cool colors’’ Arizona Mary quilt that I will do at the Fiber Floozies retreat (which is in about a month….yikes!!!)

By 6 PM I had finished the quilting on the QoV, and by 7 PM I had it all cleaned up and off of the frame and trimmed. This quilt was a milestone for me as it is the 500th quilt I have quilted :~). I’ve certainly learned a lot over the years I have been longarmming, and I’m sure I’ll continue to learn more…but I’m kinda proud of my achievement so far. I remember discussing buying a longarm with Michael and he said ‘’do you think you’ll really use it?’’ I’m glad that my answer of ‘’yes’’ proved true.

At that point I packed up both quilts as Paula said she would gladly come down and pick them up, and I headed upstairs to PACK for me! And spend a bit of time with my honey before leaving for our SECRET VACATION!!!!

Congrats on #500 !!!

So glad Loree helped you out... I think it's a great idea for the quiltmaker to know that she isn't doing her borders properly. Hopefully it will save some angst the next time around for the quilter. Have fun on your secret vacation and can't wait to hear all about it !💗
