Michael was up and out before 9 AM on Saturday (10/29) for golfing here at SCCL, while I faced the dragon in my studio…the bottom half of the wavy QoV. I slowed the speed of my machine WAY down, and manipulated the fabric to prevent pleats…and by NOON, it was all done (YAY!):
I am so very happy that I was able to complete this quilt….you have no idea!
I got the quilt cleaned up and off of the frame and all trimmed, ready to go back to Scrap Happy for someone to bind. I also spent a good part of the afternoon continuing to re-claim fabric from that ugly pile I showed you several days ago…and I also got 2 labels done for the 2 blue/white quilts on the to-be-bound pile:
-I actually did 3 labels, but this first one stitched out so poorly (just check out the "R" in wrap and the "U" in your for example) that I changed my needle and did 2 more...and they came out much better)
My honey was home from golf at 2 PM, but all he would say about his score was ‘’15 good holes’’…you know, out of 18!!! After he got through his emails…he laid out my retreat completed blocks:
OMgosh…I LOVE this quilt!!! And the blue/green really tones down the brightness of the rainbow….can’t wait to see it quilted and finished!
I felt like I hadn't sewn at home in forever (because I haven't), so I made a start on a long term project:
and also started to sew my rainbow butterflies together:
AND, Inez reminded me of things I used to do…..seasonal door hangings:
And she sent along her October art work…I am always so impressed with people who can draw:
When I was at Janice's at the end of September, we had a charity day at Scrap Happy where several quilts were tied. A fellow quilter took pictures, which I am finally remembering to publish:
*** Christmas is coming…here are 10 things all quilters want:
1 – quilting supplies
2 – friends with quilting supplies
3 – a big house to hold quilting supplies
4 – lots of $$$ to buy quilting supplies
5 – a spouse who doesn’t mind quilting supplies
6 – cute storage to organize quilting supplies
7 – friends who encourage buying quilting supplies
8 – a room just for quilting supplies
9 – time to use quilting supplies
10 – more quilting supplies…. ***
For some reason it sounds a little blasphemous to TONE DOWN the brightness of a rainbow ! 🙃
And of course I love the quilters Christmas list !
So….what do you really want for Christmas?…
I think I will send that Christmas list to a few people.
Great job on quilting in the wonky border on that quilt! I would have been holding my breath on that last row - and doing a lot of pushing and manipulating 😜!
Your rainbow butterfly quilt is GORGEOUS!!!
