********************************

I woke up with acute pain in my replaced hip Friday morning (1/7)…I was in way more pain than I ever was before I got it replaced!!! When I got out of the shower I yelled out to Michael to bring me a cane and come and help me :~(. I have no idea what happened, but it started Thursday night and by Friday morning I couldn’t walk without a cane :~(. I was going to take some ALEVE, but decided if I was going to the doctor, I needed to be able to tell them how much it hurt and where. Michael called Ortho Carolina…and of course they had no openings in Indian Land or Ballentyne, so we have an appointment in Charlotte in the late afternoon. I’m not looking forward to it given the Covid situation, but I’ve gotta find out what is going on, as this situation is NOT livable :~(. In addition to the pain in my hip, I had a sharp pain on the other side in my gut.

I headed to the studio around 9 AM (with Michael carrying my tea as I was carrying my cane and holding on!!), because I could either sit in the living room and be miserable.....or go to my happy place and be in pain, so happy place won...and fired up XENA again.

I spent the morning quilting and working on my men’s strata. In the morning I had pain in my hip, and also in my gut, but by 1 PM I had almost no pain in my hip and was walking without the cane, but my gut was killing me. I’ve only had one UTI in my life…and I didn’t have any pain with that, so I wasn’t 100% sure what was going on…but I cancelled the appointment with OrthoCarolina. I decided I needed to start drinking something hot (several years ago, when Michael was having a lot of pain in his stomach, our friend Sally told him to drink some hot liquid when that happened…and it really seemed to help….so I thought I’d follow the same advice.)

I continued to quilt and sew in the afternoon, and by dinnertime, the quilting was done (could somebody please NAME this quilt and let me know what to call it!!!):

I also had one block done for my men’s quilt:

but I am not sure I like it. I re-arranged:

-and re-arranged again.....

and still am not sure……When I went upstairs for dinner (Michael ran out to get Chinese from a new place), I called BG and she sent me some pictures of hers…..I’ll have to move it around tomorrow morning and see if I like it better.

We spent most of the evening watching holiday episodes of the GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW, with me huddled under a blanket as I could NOT get warm.

And this one is just for my friend Anne:
