Michael left for golf here at SCCL on Saturday morning (6/11) and finally, after a decent night’s sleep (yay and hooray)…I spent a good bit of time getting through the MOUNTAIN of mail that had accumulated (gosh….I HATE mail….unless there’s a holiday coming up and we get a card from the Dauberman’s :~).
After that I hit my computer and cleaned up my emails and got my blog out before cutting the rest of the strips I need for ‘’blues’’ quilt #3, which I will work on at Thursday quilting:
I think I’m going to end up with a total of 4 ‘’blues’’ quilts…and I’ll have to quilt them and take them all on the same day for show and tell!! Of course...I don't have a pattern written for the 4th one...or even the dimentions figured out....so that's going to take awhile. After that, I wound bobbins and kicked off quilting on XENA:
You know, I was excited to get this quilt basted as I managed to use 4 old pieces of batting….good since my pieces-of-batting basket was over-flowing!
Michael got home around 2:30 PM….a FIVE HOUR ROUND!!! But, he had a birdie…and at least 6 pars for an 84….so that made him somewhat happy. I continued to sew the new QoV blocks into rows…and by late afternoon, all 6 rows were done:
I don't remember which blue quilt gave me leftovers on my strips:
But most of the strips had 5-1/2'' leftover...that's enough for 2 HST's with my new ruler. I decided to start cutting those and putting them on my new/old table for leaders and enders:
I don't know what I'll do with them yet...but they'll probably be the start of a ''leftovers' quilt.
We had leftover Chinese for dinner and vegged the rest of the night.
Several extra pics I thought you might enjoy....

-AJ, in a dress I spent hours embroidering
-blooms on Michael's 9 foot tall sunflower
-a gorgeous bouquet my honey picked of our glads
-our first harvest of wild blueberries

Nice flowers and fabulous embroidered dress AND photo !
Great pictures!
Great pictures!! And I think I want the pattern directions for that QOV. I saw a "scrappy" version where instead of white background, each block was made with 2 coordinating colors, and put together you still saw the "circles" .
You might think about supporting your sunflower. A strong wind might break it or topple you pot?
