Sandy & Candy's quilts, Easter dinner

Sandy brought me a quilt a few days ago, so since I got both of my quilts off of the frame, I got hers loaded up on Saturday (3/30) morning:

and started quilting:

Along with sewing on my bed quilt blocks, that’s how I spent the day. Quilting and sewing all day makes a perfect day for me….but I know it makes for boring reading :~).

Michael came home from golfing in the afternoon and of course, Freya had to show him just how much she missed him:

I know I mentioned that I'm trying to set up a celebration for later in the year...and I got a big disappointment today. I got some cupcakes as a taste test....luckily I did becasue the side was all wrong :~(. I mistakenly assumed that all cupcakes were the same size, but when I saw them...and then popped them into my regular muffin tin....the difference was obvious....and the smaller size is not going to work for what I had in mind:

So, I'm off to find another cupcake maker.

Happy Easter (3/31)! Normally we invite everyone who doesn’t have family nearby to come for dinner….but for once, I just wasn’t feeling it this year, so it was a blessing to get up late and not have to worry about anything :~).

I spent the morning and early afternoon finishing up Sandy’s quilt:

And then got Candy's 4th Christmas quilt loaded:

Michael made potato/carrot mash for dinner and we had a perfect Easter dinner:

with champagne to celebrate our time together:

I spent Monday morning (4/2) pulling together info to drop off to our CPA for taxes. I do not understand myself sometimes….I do most of the financial stuff in our house (I know every couple divides stuff differently!) and for some reason I just have a paralyzing fear about the tax stuff! I kid you not….EVERY SINGLE MORNING in March….I lay in bed saying…..’’OK…this is the day….hop up and get the tax stuff pulled together’’….and every single day…I didn't do it. It is SO MUCH EASIER now than in the past when I had to go through our checkbook for the year, and all of our credit card statements to make spreadsheets of all of our medical costs and our donations….now they have that several thousand dollar deduction…and it really doesn’t take that much time at all….but I still feel paralyzed by fear for no good reason….weird! Anyway, it is FINALLY at the tax guy’s office and as a reward, I had a massage :~). Brianna said I was very tense….she could feel it in all of my muscles…and I could definitely feel the soreness in all of my muscles, but it was a wonderful massage none-the-less.

I spent the afternoon quilting on Candy’s Christmas quilt:

and by 5:30 PM, it was done:

That was good because by then Michael had expanded our kitchen table and dragged out extra chairs for my knitting students. The library was closed for Easter Monday, and I hated to have just 1 class and then miss 2 weeks, so I asked the students if they wanted to meet at my house for the second class. I got a VERY enthusiastic response, so that’s what I did from 6 – 7:30 PM on Monday night, while Michael was entertaining the dog and watching TV.

One of the students was very sweet and brought along a bottle of wine….so after they left, I poured myself a glass and settled in with my own knitting.

Beautiful quilts! I’m so glad you gave yourself a break from your Easter Dinner. Sometimes we just need a break from everything to “re-charge our batteries. “. Also, a Bloody Mary counts as a vegetable serving at anytime of the day or night. I’m an expert & have done my research. 🧐

I love Sandy's and Candy's quilts! Very, very nice! Freya is getting huge! Not a lap dog anymore.
