Saturday & Sunday

I had a lot of different things to get done on Saturday (3/23) so was very happy my honey (as usual) helped out by making me breakfast (that's a pear, not potato wedges at the top of the plate :~):

He also worked with me on the layout for our bed quilt….and we both love the arrangement of blocks now…..now to get it sewn together and the borders on before BG arrives at the end of April :~).

First up was cleaning up and trimming my customer quilt:

Then, since I don’t have any other customer quilts….I wanted to load up 2 of my own. I pulled out 2 tops that I thought would go on a beige background….but didn’t load them up right away. I was so excited about stitching my ‘’label’’ directly on the last 2 quilts I did, that I wanted to try that again, so I held my breath and loaded the first one up (although I forgot to move the label to the bottom of my hoop…..oh well…I just need more experience to remember everything!):

Everything went off without a hitch:

so I loaded up the second quilt for a label:

I am going to 2 retreats in May…..a long weekend with Janice and June to check out June’s new condo at the shore, and another longer retreat with some people from Thursday quilting. I don’t have enough projects to get me through those….so I cleaned out my project box (lots of leftover stuff from the last retreat I was on :~) and started thinking about what I want to work on next. I got 2 blues that I thought went together from a recent donation of fabric, and finally decided they didn’t go together after all….but I found some other blue in my stash that I thought would work well, so I got a Potato Chip quilt cut out and into the project box:

I also got backing loaded up for the 2 quilts I just embroidered ‘’labels’’ on. By then it was 7 PM and I headed upstairs to spend the rest of the night with my honey.

We were very lazy and got to sleep in on Sunday morning (3/24)…heaven! I took a quick shower and headed to the studio to get batting measured and cut and laid on….and the first quilt laid on:

but by then it was time to change clothes and head out.

We picked up Ed & Carol and headed to Theatre Charlotte for THE THURSDAY NIGHT BRIDGE CIRCLE….

a fabulous play set in 1970, in the south.

-ok....I'm terrible at selfies....

-but Ed & Carol look really good....don't they???

The acting was terrific and the only disappointment was how little we have progressed in race relations in these last 50 years.

We talked about the play all the way to TRIOS for dinner, where Michael had shrimp and scallop pasta:

while I had a pesto pizza:

We were not home until 8 PM, and our poor baby Freya had been alone for 7 hours, but she was as good as gold and incredible excited to see us!

*** I just did a week's worth of cardio walking into a spider's web. ***

So very glad that you had some “down” time from your customers (me included) to get your own special quilts completed.
