Happy Birthday to my wonderful honey!!!!! We slept in on Saturday morning (2/10), and before I went downstairs, Michael put one of his hot/cold pain patches on my neck/back/shoulder. I have no idea what I did, but when I woke up yesterday morning I was in a lot of pain…and it hasn’t dissipated by today….so he thought maybe I should try a patch. I headed to the studio after that, to work more on Darlene’s gorgeous quilt. I paused in the afternoon to put together an Amaretto Pound Cake (I wanted to have a non-chocolate option for people):
and to get cleaned up for our birthday guests:
-Pete, Kay Sue, Denne, the birthday boy, Colleen, Mark, Diane
We had several couples who couldn’t make it due to illness, but the rest of us feasted on cake and ice cream and had a good time talking.

We had pancakes and bacon:
-just look how thick those pancakes are.....I LOVE my pancakes!
for breakfast on Sunday (2/11) before heading out with June & Sandy to Theatre Charlotte:
I guess I wasn’t expecting much because Michael originally thought that RUMORS was not one of Neil Simon’s better plays…but the acting was SUPERB and the play itself….hysterical! The four of us had a delightful time…and were home by 6 PM…in time for the Super Bowl kick-off. Michael alternated between watching golf and watching football, while I headed to the studio to continue quilting and piecing...I got 2 additional blocks made and then all of my new blocks sewn into rows:

Michael had an early morning quick doctor’s appointment on Monday morning (2/12) (just to clean some extra wax out of his ears....they used a teeny, tiny vaccuum cleaner!!!) and I stayed upstairs while he was gone to do intake on another customer quilt. I finally made it downstairs around 11 AM and got 1-1/2 rows done before my bobbin ran out, causing my thread to break. Normally this is not that much of a problem, but my thread got caught up on the inside of my machine and wrapped itself around and around my needle shaft and it took both me and Michael about 1-1/2 hours to get all of the thread out!!! I NEVER thought we would be done…it was painstaking and finicky work and both of us where tired by the time we were done….but it was worth it to do it correctly so that my tension was not affected on the rest of the quilt. I was finally done quilting by 4 PM:
This quilt is so very pretty….I really wish I could keep it :~).
Michael drove me to the library for knitting in the evening (our car is STILL in the shop!!!) and my students are still doing well….I am so happy!
Another funny contributed by a reader...
The young woman who submitted the tech support message below (about her relationship with her husband) presumably did it as a joke. Then she got a reply that was way too good to keep to herself. The tech support people's love advice was hilarious
Dear Tech Support,
"Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slowdown in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5,and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0, and GolfClubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and House cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems but to no avail. What can I do?

The response (that came weeks later out of the blue)
Dear Desperate,
First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: I thought you loved me.html and try to download Tears 6.2. Do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
However, remember, overuse of the Tears application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta version.
Whatever you do, DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Mother-In-Law 1.0 as it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources. In addition, please do not attempt to re-install the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend SEX 3.0.
Good Luck
Love today’s joke!
I think that is one of the best jokes yet that you’re posted!
Mind your own ear wax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the funny.
